The next morning I woke up and stumbled out of the bed. I walked over to the other bed and laid a hand on Sam, to make sure he was there. He brought back dinner last night, but I almost forgot that he stayed. I went over to the couch to feel for Dean, but he wasn't there.
“Dean?” I asked, feeling the couch. Nothing.
“Dean?!” I asked again, this time more frantic. I slipped on my jacket over my pajamas and searched for my white cane. When I found it, I pulled on my boots. I extended my white cane and rushed out the front door. I heard Dean's voice talking to someone.
“Dean?!” I asked, frantically. I heard Dean shuffle and the mysterious other person step forward.
“Aya?” Dean asked.
“Oh, thank god,” I said, rushing to him. I tripped over a rock and the other man caught me. As soon as he touched me, I could see. I saw this other man, in a long tan trench coat and business suit. He had on a blue tie and it was on backwards. His black hair was ruffled up and sticking up on all sides. He helped me up and let go. The world went dark again.
“I could... see!” I exclaimed, “Dean, I saw! I saw that man! Who is he, Dean? How did he do that?” I was so excited, that Dean had to steady me.
“You can make her see?” Dean asked the other man. The other man ignored him and introduced himself to me.
“I am Castiel. Angel of the Lord,” He said. I gasped.
“An Angel?” I asked, surprised, “But, How?”
Dean took me by the shoulders.
“Aya, listen to me, I had no idea about angels either. But to you remember when I was in hell?”
“Yeah, your brother wouldn't leave us alone,” I replied.
“And when I miraculously came back to life?”
“Yeah, Bobby had me pour holy water on you,”
“Cas here saved me from hell. He pulled me out of the pit,”
“He can do that?”
“Obviously,” Castiel cut in.
I took a moment to process all this information.
“Cas says that Cooperstown is a set up,” Dean continued.
“Wait, wait, a setup?” I asked.
“A trap so to speak,”
“We're still going,” I stated.
“It's not a good idea, Aya,” Cas warned.
“You can take your feathery ass and fly away. We are still going,” I growled.
“Aya,” Dean warned.
“No, this is my case, and if it's a trap or not, there are people dying, and our job is to save them, right?”
“Yeah, but--”
“No buts,” I deadpanned. I turned away and attempted to storm back to the room, but I ended up tripping again. I growled and then burst open our room door. Sam was up by now.
“Where were you?” He asked, “You look like a zombie.”
“Meeting an angel,” I snarled and then threw my white cane on my bed. I took my clothes that I had laid out last night into the bathroom. I locked the door behind me. As I dressed, I heard Dean come in. He and Sam exchanged some words that I couldn't hear. I finished getting dressed and went back out into the room. I sat on the bed and faced the wall. I didn't look at anyone and I didn't move.
“Aya?” Sam asked.
“Shut up,” I snapped.
It was quiet for a few more minutes until Dean spoke.
“Aya, it could be dangerous and--”
“I said, SHUT UP!” I shouted, standing, “Just because your stupid angel friend says it's dangerous, why are you going to listen to him? You've known me for far longer than you've known him, so why don't you trust me? Is it because I'm blind? Why?” At this point I was right in front of Dean. He was taller than me and my head came to his chest.
“Aya, I do trust you. And you trust me. Remember what I said last night? I would put my life ahead of yours,” Dean began.
“Wait, what happened last night?” Sam asked, but we ignored him.
“I also promised Bobby I would keep you safe. If there is a possibility that it is a trap, I don't want to go anywhere near it,” Dean finished.
“Yeah, but you did tell Bobby you would take me, and keep me safe. I'm going with or without you,” I said, mimicking the way he said it the day before, “And you have to 'protect' me, don't you?” I smirked at the silence of the two of them.
“Fine,” Dean growled, “We'll go.”
“Yes! Yes, yes, yes!!” I rejoiced. I ran around the room and then tripped falling on Sam's bed. Dean lets out a small laugh.
“Let's get going,” I said, standing up. Dean tossed me my white cane and then I grabbed on to Sam's arm. He escorted me to the car and we hopped in.
“So, were are we going first?” I asked.
