Chaotic Confusion

The next day me and Juggie walked to school together, there was an uncomfortable silence lingering in the air the entire time.

Finally, after some internal debate, I decided to open up the conversation.

"Hey, how was your morning Juggie?" I asked.

"I woke up early, couldn't think straight." He replied, still clearly not in a talkative mood and in his own world of thoughts.

I just simply nodded and we continued walking in an ever tensening air.

As we arrived at the school, we saw Archie entering the double doors. Juggie sprinted away from me and tried to catch up, me trailing behind him, running as fast as I could.

On getting close enough to Archie Jughead pushed him into a locker, making an echoing clatter sound through the hallway.

When I got there I tried to pull him away but in his rage Juggie shook me off easily.

"How could you do that to her man?" He yelled, staring at Archie like he was a red rag.

When a shocked Archie didn't reply, Jughead grabbed him by the shoulders, holding him against one of the lockers.

"What the hell Juggie!" Replied Archie pushing him off of himself.

Juggie fell back into me due to the sheer power of Archie's shove. I held onto Juggie, hoping to calm him down. I knew Archie was stronger and although Jughead's fisique was fine with me, I couldn't bear to see him get hurt.

"Please Juggie, please." I whimpered into his ear. "Please just come with me."

I tugged lightly on his arm and eventually he began to follow me, still not taking his eyes off of Archie.

I managed to drag him back to the lounge area, taking him over to the couches and getting him to sit down.

After a few minutes, he had appeared to have calmed down.

"Hey Juggie, you're not hurt are you?" I asked concerned.

"No, no I'm OK." Juggie reassured me, placing a hand lightly on my knee as I sat beside him.

We sat in silence for a little while longer but this time the tension had dissipated and we were relaxed.

Then Archie walked in. Great.

Holding Juggie back with my arm as he tried to get up, I turned to him.

"Archie, what on earth do you think your doing?" I asked. Had he not already done enough today.

"Look, please Betty just let me explain." He replied.

I raised my eyebrows, signifying that he better get on with it as I was trying to holdback the angry Juggie next to me.

"I don't know anything about why Juggie attacked me but if I've done something wrong, please just explain what it is." He said, seemingly sincere.

"Were you the one that attacked Betts in the woods?" Asked Juggie, slightly calmer now.

"What, you were attacked?" Asked Archie, pointing at me with a shocked expression plastered across his face.

Me and Juggie stared at each other in utter disbelief. Did he really have no idea of what we were talking about?

"Something grabbed me in the woods, we were sure it was you." I said.

A look of disappointment fell upon Archie's face.

"So you really think I'd do that."

Archie looked down at the floor.

"We knew you didn't Archie, it's just you weren't there when it happened and I'm sorry, I'm really sorry." I said, beginning to feel awful for blaming him.

Juggie took my hand and I leaned on his shoulder.

"Look Archie, I'm really sorry. Its just someone, probably walking to class right now attacked my... Our Betts." He said, holding me close to him.

"It's OK Juggie, we'll find out who did this. Just keep her safe for now." Said Archie, leaving the room slightly reassured that we didn't think he was a bad person.

Whoever was doing these horrible things wanted to break me and Archie's friendship apart and destroy my relationship with Jughead.
