Jolly and Grantaire ran past, managing to snag alarmed Marius by the elbows. Enjolras fought the urge to laugh, as he watched them drag Marius along who did not look entirely happy about it.

Hiccuping and loud laughter faded as the couple and their captive disappeared into the crowd. Enjolras looked back to Eponine who was kneeling down and picking up her pencils that Marius dropped.

Enjolras bent down and helped. The ten minutes before class were nearly over as they picked up the last of the pencil trail mess Marius had made. Eponine stowed away her pencils as Enjolras glanced down the hall for any signs of Javert. "What's your next class?" He asked out of the corner of his mouth.

Eponine blew a stray hair out of her face. "Art, next to the-" "-pottery shed behind the gymnasium, the door is concealed by a cascade of blooming lilacs." Enjolras finished.

Eponine's face brightened in amazement. Enjolras looked around again, then held out his elbow for her and she gratefully took it.

A small boy barreled through them nearly knocking Eponine to the ground. Her knees buckled and she sagged against him softly whimpering in pain. Enjolras gently steadied Eponine then scowled at the boy who was dizzily shifting through papers.

The boy turned to Enjolras, holding out a note. "Vis is for yeew."

Enjolras angrily snatched the letter from the boy, then coolly stuffed it in his bag. "What were you thinking?! Gavroche, she's badly hurt." Enjolras said sternly, his grip tightening on Eponine.

The boy who bust have been Gavroche stood and dusted himself off. He fluffed his matted sandy blonde hair, then adjusted his broach. "I says she's 'oo pretty for the loiks of yeew." He said casually, shooting Enjolras a raised eyebrow. The boy's brow furrowed. "Whoi aren't yeew en class anyway?"

"I'm escorting Eponine to her class, it's not far." Enjolras said calmly.

Gavroche shrugged his shoulders. He reached up, and shook Eponine's hand. "I 'ope you'll be okay miss Eponine."

Eponine smiled, the sunlight revealing a couple of bruises. "Thank you Gavroche."
