Chapter 2

The day of the trip

I struggled to zip up my plain black suitcase.

The clothes were overflowing at the sides.

I sighed, frustrated.

The zipper refused to zip. I tugged on it once more before it came off of the chain.

"Great." I mumbled.

It was 5am and I was super tired.

"Addi!" My mom yelled from them bottom of the stairs.

"What?" I yelled back.

She didn't answer. Typical.

I groaned to myself.

I swiftly swung open the creamy white door and stepped outside of my room.

When my feet touch the cold, hardwood floor it clams my nerves somehow.

"Mom?" I called down the stairs. I see her whip her head out of the kitchen door frame.

"Be done soon. I expect you to say your goodbyes in 10." She says sharply.

"Okay,Cathy!" I scream trying to push her buttons.

She raises her eyebrows at me and then glares at me.

"Not acceptable." She says short and choppy. I give her a wide , toothy smile.

She brushed her hands off on her apron and have me a small smile before walking back into the kitchen.

I walked back into my room and flipped open the lid of my suit case, revealing a mess of crumpled and unorganized clothes.

I huffed out a puff of breath. I grab a fist full of clothes and chucked them on to my bed.

I grabbed another suitcase and dumped the clothes that were in the broken suitcase into the new one.

Once I was finished packing, I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket.

I pulled it out of my pocket and clicked on my messages.

I grabbed my suitcase and hauled it downstairs.

I gave my mom a big hug and next my dad and then my little sister.

They all mumbled "I love you" and "be safe"

My dad looked at me serious and said "Keep the boys out of your pants."

It took all of me not to crack up but I just bit my lip and nodded.

I heard a honk and I opened the door of my house and glanced back at my family sitting on the couch.

I waved and gave them a small smile.

I walked out to Bei's black range rover.

"Damn, your ass looks good in those shorts. Let me borrow them sometime?" Yelled Aryn, right when I came into view.

I chuckled.

"Like your ass would fit in them." I said with a smirk on my face. The other girls giggled and Aryn put a hand on her heart and faked being hurt.

I heard her mumble something like "my ass isn't that big." To herself.

I set my suitcase and various bags down in the trunk of the car.

Bei was driving, her being one of the oldest, she got her license first.

Some of the girls stuff was in the passenger seat. Aryn and Kayleigh were in the second row of seats and Aubrey sat in the back waiting for me.

I climbed over the second row of seats so I could get to my seat in the back.

I sat down on the seat.

"Road trip, babes!" Bei screamed as she backed out of my driveway.

I chuckled and took the headphone out of Aubrey's hand that she was offering to me.

I stuck it in my ear and listened carefully to the music playing.
