Dear Diary (that I stole from my best friend but that's not important):So I know what you're asking Diary. Who is this who has such a beautiful handwriting and where has she been all my life?
I'm Jenny Smith, A.C's best friend (when she decides to talk to me anyway.)
Why do I have her diary? Well I was just bored and it was lying around. She's gone for a doctor's appointment so that means I have about five hours to live left but I swear I haven't read anything she's written. It's just she hasn't been talking to me lately and yet she's always scribbling something in this diary.
I'm jealous of a diary *cue dramatic placing of the back of the palm lightly on forehead* How the mighty have fallen!
So I got stressed and decided to write on you to let out my anger.
Anyway, it all started in the morning when we were preparing to go for morning lessons. I was just walking down the hallway humming to Drake's latest rap album when I spotted Kyle. Now I had been avoiding Kyle because I didn't want to talk about his sister. When the topic of therapy came up I knew there was no way I could be biased I would instantly take his sister's side. So I decided that avoiding to prevent an argument was the best cause of action. I didn't do confrontation.
I quickly looked around and opened the first door I saw. I checked the key hole watching for a pair of silver Jordans passing by.
"What are you doing here?" I heard someone ask and spun around.
"What...um...what am I doing here? That's....that's actually a pretty good question. What is here exactly and why am I not supposed to be here?" I asked looking around and that's when I noticed the urinals.
I realised that the guy who was talking was A.C's new piece of hot male meat. Of course she would kill me if I ever said that in front of her so let's keep it between us diary.
Now when the boy was wearing glasses he was okay looking but I had seen him playing rugby when the shirt and glasses came off, Lord have mercy. He was hot but A.C had her eyes on him so to me he might as well have been a monkey.
"What I'm doing here is...um...the principal was worried that the new air fresheners for the washrooms weren't working so he sent me here to like smell," now when the words were out of my mouth was when I noticed I sounded like a freak but I had put myself in this boat and I was to ride through all those waves.
"Right," He said and I had never seen someone look more sceptical.
I made the mistake of pointing my nose up and sniffing to play my part and instantly choked. The smell of lemony air freshener mixed with urine mixed with boy body cologne and other things I didn't want to wander about didn't exactly bring a pleasing scent.
"Yeah we'll I'm done here. Now let me just go and sniff the vending machines to make sure that the snacks are fresh," I said turning to the door. Great now he thinks I'm like a dog. I was never going to look him in the eye.
"Wait you're Jenny, right?" He asked and I turned around.
"That depends. Are you some cereal killer who's obsessed with girls called Jenny? Because if so then I'm not called Jenny but there are about fifteen girls in my cheerleading squad who are. I'll just give you a list of their names and you can you know do you thing and slash away," I told him and now he was looking at me as if I was crazy.
Then a big smile came to his face, "You're exactly like she said."
"What did she say?" I asked narrowing my eyes not that I believed my best friend would ever say anything negative about me it's just that she didn't deliver the good qualities nicely.
"She said you're a crazy person," he told me matter-of-factly. You see what I'm telling you diary?
"Hmm, I really should be going now," I said opening the door but spared one final glance at him, "So when you tell your friends the story of our first encounter can you please live out the words crazy, freak, weirdo? I prefer funny, eccentric and even add beautiful."
He gave me a light laugh, "Sure thing, weirdo."
I smiled back at him and walked out. I could see why A.C liked him, he was actually pretty cool.
My day went smoothly after that until when A.C got back from her doctor's appointment.
"Hey Jenny," she said opening the door of my room and I immediately stuffed the diary in one of the silly powerpuff girls backpacks I used to decorate my room. You know those one which are shaped like a powerpuff girl but have a zip at the back.
"What's up?" I asked her as she entered.
"Diego has just come over. You want to watch a movie with vodka ice cream?" She asked me and I smiled. Whenever either of us had done something wrong to the other. The one in the wrong always offered a movie and vodka ice cream to the other. Diego has joined into our little tradition a few years back but also Kyle was in on it. Vodka ice cream was our favourite ice cream, which was pretty much anything with pistachio in it and vodka poured in it.
She walked out of my room and I stood up from my Fairy tail duvet, don't judge. I stopped at the door then turned back to grab my phone which was on the bed. As soon my fingers touched the phone it started buzzing and I instinctively pressed on the wattsapp message without even looking to see who it was from.
We need to talk.
Was what I saw when I read the message that was from Kyle. I was about to ignore it when I remembered the little blue tick to show that a message had been read. Man I hated technology, you couldn't even ignore someone without them knowing this days.
I miss the cave man days when all you had to do was tie a dog outside your cave and all the neighbours would get the hint. If whatsapp was going to put the blue tick then it should send back a message after the blue tick had stayed their for more than one hour to the sender saying, Sorry this user is not up for your bullsheet right now.
I swear this is a world changing idea diary. When I make a lot of money from it I promise to buy you a fairy tail book cover and not this boring leather thing A.C has put on you. I sighed seeing Kyle's message and typed in a quick reply.
I threw my phone back on the bed then joined A.C and Diego who had already started the movie. And they call themselves my friend. I sat down between them and watched as suicide squad begun. It was like our tenth time watching it but you never get tired of perfection. I was just happy to be with two of my three best friends and couldn't care less about anything else.
A chapter in Jenny's POV. What do you think of her?
