Mack
"I can't believe that you would sneak out like that. Or drink!" My mother yelled. "And I can't believe you would go with those people!" I looked out my window in the backseat. "They're not just people, mom. Those are my friends." I said. " I don't care. You still snuk out so you're grounded." My parents said at the same time. "And I hope you and Logan had a good time last night because you won't be seeing him for awhile." My mom sighed and looked out her window.
She probably thought I was ignoring her. But the thing is I had nothing else to say. I know I shouldn't have gone, but it was the last party of year. The last time I would get to see my friends until the following year. Our senior year. Then I realized. I sounded like a spoiled rich kid. Something I knew I wasn't. "I hate you." I said without thinking. "Good because I'm not here to your friend." My mother said. "Now let's drop this and try to have a good time." She said.
The tension in the car kept building and my brother looked up from the book he was reading. "I'll stay home with you." He said and smiled at me. I smiled back. "Just be a kid, kid." I said and hugged my brother.
As I looked out the window I could see headlights flying down the hill. Realizing that they were on the wrong side. My dad tried to get out of the way but it was to late. The truck was swaying too much and going way too fast.
Then I heard the hit. Heard the screams from my mother. My brother covered his face from the flying glass. I couldn't hear or see my parents. It was as if they vanished.
"Save...them." I heard a voice say before everything went completely black.****
I could feel someone carrying me but I couldn't open my eyes long enough to see who it was. I could smell the gas and the heat but couldn't tell where it was coming from. Someone was trying to talk to me, but they sounded as if I was the one under water and everyone was trying talk to me on land.My head was spinng I didn't know what to do. I couldn't move my arms or the rest of my body. I wanted to open my mouth but I don't know if anything would come out. And before I could think once again everything went silent and the darkness consumed me.
****
I woke up with people around me. Machines beating and voices whispering. I looked around. "Where am I?" I croaked out. My throat was dry and it felt like I was swallowing sand paper.
