Mack

It's the first day of Summer Break and I, Mackinliegh Jane Mason was stuck in the hospital. You're probably wondering how I got here. But that's just it, I don't know. My heart started pounding just thinking about it.

All I remember is sitting in the car talking to my family. It was Tuesday and Tuesday night was family night. But it wasn't fun. At least I think it was that way. All I remember is that I was fighting with my parents. It was over the party that I snuk out to go to the night before.

The last thing I said to them was "I hate you." Then out of nowhere this truck came speeding down the road. My dad tried to move out of the way but it was too late. The truck hit us head on. My brother and I were the only two that made it.

My dad was a DOA, and my mom was found 30 feet from the car after it crashed. So now my brother and I have to live with our aunt and her weirdo boyfriend.

"Mack? Hey, how are you feeling?" My Aunt Sarah asked as she came into the hospital room. Her once bright green eyes now are dark green and almost colorless. "I'm doing okay." I said. Dreading telling her that I can go home tomorrow. "So you're doctor said that you can leave soon." She smiled.

Well isn't that nice. My heart began to sink. I didn't want to leave. That meant I had to go to the funeral. That it was all real and they weren't coming back. That ment I had to take care of my brother. And I'm not ready for that.

I smiled. "Can't wait." I lied. She left the room. Probably going to check on my brother. And once again I was wondering how he was taking all of this. I sighed. Guess I'll find out tomorrow.

I could feel her everywhere. I don't know who she is but I have to get to know her. I have to keep her safe. Even from my family. My only family. My brother.

"Hello little brother." I looked up to see my brother standing in the door way to my balcony. I could feel the anger building from inside. "What are you doing here Damian?" I spat closing the distance between us. "Came back to check on you and Jeremy." He smiled. That was the last thing I seen him do before I smashed a book to his face and he fell to the floor with a loud thump.

Jeremy my ass. I thought as I walked out of my room. I looked at the news paper sitting on the table in the hallway: "Couple found dead on 10 mile road." The next heading will be that they were drained of there blood. Well welcome home big brother. Glad to see you haven't changed much. Because you'll never change.
