Dreamers; prologue

-13 years ago-

Mom tucked me in bed and wished me a happy 5th birthday for probably the hundredth time today. Today was so much fun! I played with my best friend, Hyungwon. He's been my best friend for as long as I can remember. He even lives next door. He's 5 years older than me, but we still get along so well! I hope I'll have a nice dream tonight! Sandman, please let me have a fun dream for my birthday!

I'm running. It looks like I'm in the clouds. I feel like I'm late to something but i dont know what. I also don't know why I'm running, but I'm in a rush. As I jump from one cloud to the next, i bump into something, causing me to fall down onto a rain cloud.

"Hey! You should watch where you're going!"

I look up to see a beautiful young tiger cub staring at me with big dark brown eyes.

"Sorry! I'm not sure where I am, can you help me?"

"Well, where do you need to go?"

"I-I'm not sure. I don't know this place."

"What's your name?"

"Huh?"

"My name is Matthew. What's yours?"

"My name is Somi."

"Somi."

He walks towards me. He's just a cub, but he's still way taller than me. Still inchanted by the talking tiger cub, I say nothing until he speaks up.

"We're in dreamland, Somi."

-5 years later-

This years birthday was so cool! Hyungwon and a bunch of our friends went to an amusement park even though he's already 15. I don't know why he still hangs out with me even though I'm only 10. I appreciate him way more than he'll ever know. I just hope when he starts his idol training soon, that he'll still have time to hang out with me. Sandman, please let me have a nice dream tonight too!

I'm laying in the sand. The sky is clear and all i can hear are the waves crashing and the seagulls calling in the breeze.

"Happy birthday, Somi." A familiar voice greets.

I jump up and turn to face Matthew once again. My last dream with his in it was only a couple days ago, but he's grown so much. He's much taller than me now. I run and hug him, my arms barely long enough to wrap around his neck. I brush the soft fur on his head with my hands.

"Thank you Matthew. I only have one wish for you to fulfill this year." I release my grip and face him.

"Oh yeah? What's that?"

"Stop getting bigger than me! It's annoying!"

He lets out a laugh.

"Yah! I can't control it! And even if I could, isn't it normal for the boy to be bigger than the girl?"

"Hmm... i guess. But now i cant even hug you properly!"

"Then I'll hug you instead!"
