EDITED! (4/27/2020)
"Prepare to die." Venoct growled as she swung her blade again.
Kyubi's eyes went wide.
"My lady! Don't be so hasty, I'm no enemy. Also, I'm already dead, I'm a yo-kai." Kyubi added.
"How should I trust you? You're just another nine-tailed fox!"
"Why do you want to fight me?!" Kyuubi shrieked as he dodged her strong blade.
Venoct growled and her eyes glowed. "I don't have to answer to the likes of you!" she shouted as her dragon heads extended and grabbed at Kyuubi's tails. He dodged but not being as experienced as Venoct when it came to fighting, he lost his balance and had to roll away from her, taking cover behind some trees. Since it was nighttime, it was hard for Kyuubi to detect the female warrior. Venoct jumped into the air and swung her sword horizontally. In a split second Kyuubi realized that she had cut something, but wasn't sure what. Suddenly, the trees within a 5-meter radius were all chopped.
"Frick! How'd she do that?' Kyubi internally panicked at his predicament. He snapped out his thoughts as the dragon girl threw a punch at him and he rolled to his left. He looked back at the girl and realized that she had left an enormous crater in the middle of where he had been. He started sweating bullets, thinking, "If she gets to me, I'm going to be killed for real. This girl means business.' He had to focus on the three angry dragons; one girl and two scarf heads...? Kyuubi shook his head in frustration because he didn't want to hurt her. However, she was an angry girl who probably had years of fighting judging from the power in her previous attacks. She ran towards him and started to send more attacks and slashes at him. It also didn't help that her dragon scarf was attacking him too.
He focused on dodging her attacks, but he accidentally slipped and the dragon heads bit his arms and started dragging him to the dragon girl. The dragon heads pulled him closer to the sword-wielding girl and she almost got his arm. Kyuubi flailed and closed his eyes. Panicked and not knowing where he was aiming, he shot a ball of fire. He heard a grunt and two angry roars. He looked back at the warrior and to his horror, he had burnt a chunk of her right side. He ran to her side and cried, "I'm so sorry! Are you okay?"
Venoct hissed at him and her eyes were angry. The dragon heads snapped at Kyuubi, but they couldn't go far from Venoct because they were trying to protect her.
"I'm not trying to hurt you! You attacked me first, okay? I'm sorry, I can heal that, but please let me!" Kyuubi begged. Venoct was still glaring at him. Kyuubi extended his hand out to her, his eyes pleading and Venoct finally gave in. "Fine. But, if you take advantage of me, this ugly mug will be the last thing you see on this planet Earth." Venoct snapped.
"Finally. Now, stay still." Kyuubi said. His flames started to burn and Venoct slightly flinched.
"What are you doing?" Venoct growled, staying as still as she could.
"This is my healing fire. It's going to be okay." Kyuubi reassured her.
(I don't know if this is an actual move, but let's pretend it is for the sake of this part.)
An awkward silence fell onto the two yo-kai. Venoct shifted uncomfortably and Kyuubi asked, "What's your name anyways? Mine is Kyuubi. I didn't get your name when you were trying to... you know.." Kyuubi trailed off awkwardly. Venoct heaved a sigh, and said, "My name is Venoct."
"Venoct? That's a nice name." Kyuubi said. Venoct glared at him in annoyance.
"Don't lie to me." Venoct said.
"You know, I'm not lying to you. I don't lie all the time." Kyuubi said. Venoct grunted in annoyance and looked away from him.
Suddenly, a question came into his head.
"Why do you hate us so much, anyways? And why do you think that I'm lying to you all the time?" Kyuubi asked.
"The nine-tailed foxes are all liars." Venoct growled.
"Not all of us are-" Kyuubi started, but Venoct interrupted him in a bout of anger.
"Listen you, my home was destroyed by nine-tailed foxes, who were supposed to be our allies, but no, they just had to betray us didn't they?! You're a part of the nine-tailed fox tribe and they just had to betray and slaughter the Dragon Clan! But on the other hand, I'm an avenger of the Dragon Clan, so maybe killing you could work!" Venoct roared furiously, a little bit of the story spilling out.
The black-haired Dragon Warrior's eyes went wide and she looked away, her pale face burning. Kyuubi looked just as surprised, which caused confusion in Venoct.
"I never meant for that to come out." Venoct growled as she avoided Kyubi's eyes.
Kyubi's eyes were sad, but he could tell that she wanted absolutely no sympathy for her past.
'She looks so sad just mentioning this... I didn't know that our tribe massacred the Dragon Clan. I feel bad but she's fierce, I can tell. Did she only attack me because I was a part of the Nine-tailed fox tribe? Maybe I could try and comfort her... But I've never had to do that before... Where do I start?' Kyuubi wondered. He was only used to flirting with girls, not comforting them genuinely.
He looked at Venoct and her blue eyes that didn't dare to look at his green ones. He snapped his fingers and turned back into the human version of himself. He started to walk closer to Venoct and he wrapped his arms around her. Surprisingly, she let him. Although, she stiffened at the physical contact. She was breathing heavily and her bangs cast a shadow over her eyes.
'She's trying to be strong. She's trying not to show emotions. It seems like she's usually not used to bottling up her emotions.' Kyuubi thought with slight pity.
She turned to him, snapping him out of his thoughts.
"Do you truly wish to know what happened?" Venoct asked with a serious look on her face.
He nodded cautiously, watching her expression. She heaved a sigh and looked at him directly.
"This is my story, so listen well... "
