Candace's POV

My name is Candace. In my home, there is a girl who was happily running around the house chasing an older boy who was also laughing. Those children are my daughter and son. My daughter had spiky, black hair that ended at shoulder length. A chunk of it was tied up into a ponytail held by a blue band. My son was no different except for his hair which was teal and covered his left eye. I wondered if they would ever grow up and be satisfied with themselves, seeing as their father was a hard worker. If they were anything like me, they would be very passive and I sometimes worry about that. I shook my head and called out to them, "Venoct! Orochi! Will you two stop running around for once?"

The two children skidded to a stop at my feet and looked up at me innocently.

"What is it, Mommy?" Venoct asked.

I looked at Venoct and Orochi affectionately.

"Well...let's see now... oh, right! Venoct, I want you to take these and deliver them to our new neighbors. Orochi, go with her and the two of you introduce yourselves properly, okay?"

Venoct's blue eyes lit up and she smiled.

"Okay!"

Venoct took the package and scampered off to greet the new neighbors.

Ah... how little Venoct will grow up into a beautiful girl someday... Orochi is also exceptional. He is a fine and strong little warrior. I hope I live long enough to see them grow into fine warriors who would protect the people of the village with their life.

*Timeskip*

"Hurry! They can't reach the Dragon Towers!" I cried. Somehow the Nine-Tailed Fox Tribe had taken our leader and was now trying to steal the precious gems granted to us by the Azure Dragon. In the middle of battle, I saw two more fighters running into the heat of the battle. They summoned immense power that I've never seen in this village. Come to think about it, the closer I looked, the smaller the two warriors seemed to be. Then, it hit me.

"Venoct! Orochi! What are you two doing?!" I shrieked as I started running towards them only to be held back by another infiltrator.

No. I have to get to them. Please. Dragon Lord, please let my children live...

I gasped as a sword stuck me in the chest. Blood was everywhere. I had expected this, I'm surprised that I lasted this long. I see my kids running towards me and I wanted to tell them to run away, or at least stay back. They shouldn't have to see war and bloodshed at this age, they were only children.

"Mommy!" Venoct wailed and she was crying onto my clothes. I didn't have armor, I was a simple pearl diver with only my spear to protect me. Underneath her shirt and on her back, I see a slight glow. The dragon tattoo she was born with glowed dimly. I looked over to Orochi's back and saw a dim glow, in the form of a dragon. I knew that I needed to tell them.

"Orochi, Venoct... I need to tell you something..."

"Don't try to talk. Venoct, heal mom as best as you can." Orochi growled as he fought off the warriors.

Venoct nodded and gathered her hands on my chest. A blue glow appeared, but it was no use. I was dying... I would never be able to see my children again after this. I'm not a warrior as I am only a simple pearl diver, but I would fight for my village. Unlike me, my children will be warriors. Even with their mother as a pearl diver and their father as a farmer.

"Kids, listen to me because I need to tell you this." Venoct nodded and motioned to Orochi. The enemies were focused on other fighters instead of us. So, Orochi came to me and the two of them huddled around me.

"You haven't forgotten the story of the two Spirit Dragons, right?" I asked them, and they nodded. I had made it a tradition to tell them that specific story every night. They were too young to understand before, but I have to tell them before I leave them. I took a staggering breath.

"Well, the two Spirit Dragons are inside each of you. The two dragons that will one day rule and bring peace and tranquility, that's you two." My kids looked stunned at this news, but I didn't have time to explain any further. I was far gone and I was passing my limit.

"Good-bye my precious children... My strong, brave Dragon Warriors... I'm so proud of you both and I know that you two will be the key to the world..." I murmured, my last sight before death being the two blessings I bore to this world and I smiled. After that, I saw black.
