time flew by faster than we hoped for,
it didn't last as long as we wanted it to,
if only we could go back in time,
when we used to cruise in your Electra '67,
when you whispered sweet words in my ear
and left a trail of kisses down my neck,
buzzed, dazed but in love,
we were just teenagers then,
a summer fling was all it had been you said,
missin' the smell of your leather jacket,
the feel of your lips against my skin,
the smell of cigarettes still lingers,
what is life without you now,
oh, i just wanted you,
couldn't you see?
all i have left of you are the memories that
i'll keep with me forever and ever.
