your laughter was sweet
like dripping honey,
onyx eyes so deep and enigmatic,
your voice did sooth my heartaches,
but, love, we were fading,
our love was disappearing,
like a flower dying,
the petals are falling,
your once comforting words,
now a memorized verse,
time only made the romance fade,
our love was like spring,
but now it was fall,
only dying, dying, dying,
and i must confess,
i still hear you in my sleep,
still feel your arms around me,
but i suppose it wasn't meant to be,
but, love, you'll forever hold a piece
of my heart,
and i, a piece of yours.
