Chapter 5

It was Saturday and I had chores to do like mowing the lawn and other yard stuff. Because I'm the oldest I have to make sure the yard is done and clean. My phone beeped around 1 pm in the afternoon. I pulled it out and saw a message fromChad, so I clicked it open to read.

To: Me

Hey sleep over at my house 2nte ur in

From: Me

I'll have 2 ask my parents first.

I sent it and went in side to find mum. As I found mum my phone beeped again. So I took it out and clicked it to read.

From: Chad

To: Me

Ok : )

I put my phone back into my pocket and turned to mum. "Mum, I was wondering if I could sleep over my friends house tonight" I said to my mum.

"Of course you can" mum said with a smile.

"Thanks" I turned and went to my room to message Chad and get a bag ready.

Mum said yes

I sent the message and started to get my bag ready.Chad and the rest of the boys are at work today. I put my application in at Woolworths during the week. Hopefully I'll get an interview by next week. After I done my bag I had a shower because I was sweaty from doing the yard. I put fresh clothes on that I can sleep in as well so I don't have to change over at Chad's. Dad came home from work around 4.00pm and mum asked him to take me to my friend's house.Chad finished work about 3.30pm and he said to come over after 4. I followed my dad out to the car and got in. And we were off.

During the week I found out a lot about the boys. Adam lives with his dad Trent and Cousin Jason, his dad is a nature path basically a skin doctor. His cousin is at university studying to be a doctor, he's 20 years old.Chad lives with his dad George, who's a university professor, his mum Amber who works at Target. He's got two sisters one I've already told you about and the other is in grade 5 her name is Lucinda. David lives with his dad Rolland who's a doctor, his mum Christine who's a dentist. He has a brother named Harry that's at university studying to be a doctor, he lives in Brisbane. Jacob lives with his mum Carol who works at Woolworths as a supervisor of the checkouts. He also has a sister Janice who's in grade 7. His father died when he was 5 years old in the mines. Then there is Trevor he lives with his dad Kaleb who's a primary school teacher, his mum Debra who's a day care mum at home. He has a brother Aaron who's in grade 5 and he goes to school with Chad's sister Lucinda.

We drove in silence to Chad's house and when we got there dad turned to me "now Enrique if I fined out you do something bad, you'll be in big shit trouble got that boy" dad said to me in a stern voice. I nodded and got out dad followed and went to the front door. Dad rang the door bell and we waited for an answer it was about quarter to 5 by then. The door opened by a man that looked like he was in his late 30s, he looked like Chad a bit.

"Good afternoon" he said to us.

"Good afternoon. My name is Anton Andretti and this is Enrique he's got a sleep over here tonight". My dad said to the man, my dad likes being called Anton; mum is the only one that's allowed to call him Antonio.

"Oh yes,Enrique,Chad told me about you" he said with a smile "my name is George Smith,Chad's father".

"Nice to meet you Mr. Smith" dad said.
