"Are you... being serious?" I asked. He nodded.
"Life in Skyrim is short, and I want to spend mine with you, if you'll have me." He said, pressing his forehead against mine. I smiled widely.
"I'd love to marry you, Bryn." I whispered, pecking his lips softly. "Let's get down to the Flagon, we need to share the news." He smiled and nodded in agreement as we stood and dressed ourselves. We walked, hand in hand, and retreated into the ratway. As we entered our tavern, we approached the group of fellow thieves.
"I'm glad you made up." Vex said with her usual attitude, but this time it was accompanied by a smile. I returned her smile.
"Go to the temple and make the arrangements, I'll stay and tell everyone." Brynjolf said to me. I nodded and kissed his cheek before leaving again. I walked up the steps to the temple and took a deep breath before walking in quietly. I approaches Maramel and he turned to smile at me.
"What can I do for you, my daughter?" He asked.
"I'd like to have a wedding at the temple." I requested. He smiled, full of joy.
"You wish to be married?" He asked. "It's so good to see love blossoming even in these dark times! Your wedding will be held in two days time. Don't be late! You don't want to miss your own wedding." I chuckled and thanked him as I walked out. I ran back to the Flagon to see Brynjolf having a drink at the bar. I snuck behind him, shushing everyone who saw me. I jumped on him and screamed. He screamed himself and fell off the stool. I laughed so hard I fell on the floor myself.
"I didn't think anything could spook the great Brynjolf!" I laughed. He glared at me as he sat back down. I kissed his cheek and he cracked a grin.
"You're lucky I love you." He said, trying so hard to be angry. I giggled and sat beside him.
"The wedding is in two days." I whispered to Bryn.
"Wedding?" Vekel asked. Bryn and I both nodded.
"We're getting married." Brynjolf said, announcing it to our friends. After half an hour of being congratulated, it was time for us to head to bed. We were going fine clothes shopping the next day. There was a problem, though; I couldn't get to sleep. I was thinking about Marcurio and how my marriage might break his heart. I didn't love him, no I loved Brynjolf. I did have feelings for him, however. I would choose Brynjolf in a heartbeat, but I didn't want Marcurio's heart to break because of me.
"Are you all right?" Brynjolf asked me. I nodded.
"I just can't sleep." I sighed. "Too excited, I guess." He chuckled and kissed my temple.
"I know, I am too." He said. "I'm so lucky to be with you."
"I'm the lucky one, Bryn." I giggled. "You could have any woman, but you chose me. I still can't figure out why."
"That's probably true." He chuckled. "But, every woman I've been with in the past just didn't make me feel happy like you do." I smiled.
"But, why?" I asked, turning over to face him.
"It's hard to explain, I just fell in love with you and it's still hard to believe you love me too." I blushed.
"I'm nothing special." I said, even knowing it was a lie.
"Oh bullshit." He laughed. "You're special in every way, to nearly everyone who meets you. You literally saved the world." I smiled.
"So you love me because of that, eh?" I asked, sarcastically.
"Well, that may have finalized it." He chuckled. "I knew I loved you, but your heroism just proved how strong and amazing you are." I smiled.
"Thank you, my love." I said, kissing his lips. He wrapped his arms around me, holding me close to him. I snuggled into him and closed my eyes, slowly falling asleep at last.
