How many mistakes can one person make before it becomes too much and they break?

The loud noise coming from outside my bedroom door was enough to wake me and I inwardly screamed at being back home. Why couldn't I just stay at a hotel? I just had to come back home where too many of my family members stayed.

I knew I shouldn't really argue with Andy but he was the one that convinced me to stay at my mom's place. Carrie was already staying here with her fiancé so it would've been a bit weird to stay all the way at the other end of the city where we had shared an apartment.

Reluctantly, I dragged my tired body into the shower connecting my room and with snail like speed, prepared for the long day ahead.

As I stepped into the small shower and allowed the hot water to massage my tense skin I vaguely remembered the way Darcy's fingers had roamed my body or how her tongue had expertly awakened the sleeping parts of me from since the last time I was touched by her.

It had been months since her kisses rendered me speechless or her skilled body caused me to become sated when I thought nothing else could.

I let out a quiet moan as I remembered the look in her eyes; the heat that pooled within them as her hot mouth and wet tongue ravished the sensitive spot hidden between my legs. Nothing made me hot and bothered than to see her eyes glued to my every expression as she left no part of me unsatisfied.

The biting cold of the water was enough to pull me from my thoughts and I headed out, grabbing a towel from the rack just outside.

I passed the mirror near the sink and didn't miss the love bites that decorated my body. Suppressing a smirk, I quickly dressed and headed to the kitchen for breakfast; my earlier snail like movements no longer seen.

I heard the voices of my mom and uncle before I saw them and I made my way towards the island to grab a plateful of eggs and toast.

"Morning champ."

"Good morning uncle Austin. You ready for today?"

"As ready as I'll ever be."

"Yeah..." I braced the island as my mind went back to memories of my past. "It's so strange to think of Carrie actually tying the knot."

My uncle just nodded before passing my mom a look, taking his cup of coffee with him as he headed out.

Then they were two...

"So are you not going to say something to me?" The woman who birthed me asked.

"Good morning." My reply was clipped and respectful but so unlike the daughter she knew.

My mom sighed as she tried to relax but things were still not good between us and that would be asking too much of either of us.

"Look... sweetheart, I know we've not said anything much since you came home yesterday but I really think we need to talk about what happened."

"There's nothing to talk about." I deadpanned and didn't miss the way her stiff stance... stiffened, which was surprisingly possible.
