[Chapter One: The River's Edge]

Lily sat on her bed. Her mom and her sister were moving to Riverdale. She was going to see Veronica again. She looked at the picture leaning against the lamp - her and Veronica two years ago. Lily smiled as she remembered that day.

It was her last day in New York. New Years Eve. They had gone to see the ball drop in Times Square. The night was filled with singing and laughing. As soon as the ball dropped, Hermione Lodge took a picture of her two twin daughters.

A car interrupted her thoughts. Lily brushed her brown hair behind her ears, and raced to the stairs. As soon as she got downstairs, she saw her mom and her sister. "Ronnie!" Veronica turned her gaze to her sister. "Lily!" They ran to each other and embraced in a hug.

Meanwhile, Smithers, was talking to Hermione. "Would you like some menus, ma'am, so you can order in?" Hermione shook her head. "Oh, no. I have been craving one of Pop Tate's cheeseburgers since noon." Lily broke off the hug, and faced her mom. Veronica's face read confusion. "What is a Chock'lit Shoppe and why does it sell burgers?" Lily grabbed her sister's hand. "Oh do I have things to tell you."

They pulled up to Pop's, and Lily practically jumped out of the car. Behind her, Veronica stepped out. Lily opened the door and held it for Veronica. "After you." Veronica smiled, and walked in.

Inside, Lily showed Veronica everything, and she stopped when she saw Betty and Archie. As Veronica talked to Pop, Lily walked over to them. "Hey, Betty. Hey, Archie." Betty smiled at her, while Archie slightly nodded. Lily looked at Betty. "So, me staying at your house for a year wasn't a problem?" Betty chuckled. Lily had spent her first year in Riverdale at the Cooper's house. "That was last year, you don't have to keep bringing it up." Lily shrugged.

Veronica decided to join them. "My mom and I just moved here, so-" Archie interrupted her. "From where?" Lily piped in. "New York." Archie mouthed wow. Veronica looked at the two in the booth. "Do you guys go to Riverdale?" Betty nodded. "We do. Both of us. Together. We're sophmores." Veronica smiled. "Me too." Lily hid a laugh.

Veronica sighed. "I'm filled with dread." Archie tilted his head. "Why is that?" Veronica looked around. "Are you familiar with the works of Truman Capote?" Archie nodded, and Betty looked confused. Lily sat down next to Betty. "He's an author." Betty nodded. Meanwhile, Veronica kept speaking. "I'm Breakfast at Tiffany's, but this is strictly In Cold Blood." Archie laughed. Veronica held out her hand. "Veronica Lodge." Betty and Archie looked from Veronica to Lily. "Your're related to Lily?" Lily corrected them. "Sisters, actually." Betty and Archie nodded, then Archie shook Veronica's hand. "Archie Andrews. And this is Betty Cooper." Veronica looked at Betty. "Wait, aren't you-"

"Supposed to give you your tour tomorrow? Yes." Betty smiled. "Do you want to join us? Maybe we can unfill you with dread." Lily looked at Veronica. "My mom's waiting for me. But to be continued." She started to leave, and Betty and Archie looked at Lily. "I should probably go." With that, she followed her twin sister out the door, but not before catching a glance at Archie.
