[Chapter Three: Body Double]

The next day, Lily sat in the lounge area with Veronica, Kevin, Archie, and Betty. "So are you a suspect now?" Kevin nodded. "My dad says we all are, including me." Lily picked her head up at that statement, intrigued. Veronica shrugged. "Not me, girl. I don't know these people."

It was then that a lightbulb went off in Kevin's head. "Guys, should we maybe re-binge Making A Murderer on Netflix tonight?" Betty chuckled, shaking her head. "Sorry, can't. Gotta stay late to work on the paper." Veronica nodded. "Count me out too. I've got a date tonight." Lily's eyes widened. "A date? With who?" Veronica smiled.

Lily followed her gaze to see Chuck Clayton standing at the door, adjusting his backpack. "Hey Vee-lo. I'll swing by the Pembrooke to pick you up at 8?" Veronica nodded. "I'll be waiting." Chuck put on his jacket. "Cool." He then left, and Lily turned her head to her sister. "Seriously? Chuck Clayton?" Veronica shrugged. Betty sighed. "He's kind of a player." Kevin looked at her. "Who cares? He's the hottest of the hot. And he's the varsity football coach's son. In Riverdale, that's like dating a Kennedy."

Lily rolled her eyes. "I would be careful if I were you." Veronica raised an eyebrow. "Too late. Already happening. But I appreciate the concern."

Later that day, Lily sat in her room, on her phone. She was exhausted. She needed some comfort, which for her, meant texting Reggie. Hey. Lily bit her fingernail, anxiously waiting for a response, which she got. Hey. Lily smiled. Her fingers were already in motion. What are you doing? She looked around. Oh, just finishing up an interrogation with the sheriff. Lily chuckled. I'm sure you did nothing wrong. She heard the door open, and she looked up to see Veronica walking in. She turned her phone off.

"How was your little date?" Veronica sighed. "It was nice. He was a gentleman." Lily nodded. "Wow, sounds nice. Where was the date?" Veronica smiled. "Pop's." Lily held up a thumbs up. Veronica started to walk out. "Well, I gotta do homework now. Bye." Lily waved bye, then turned on her phone again. "Ooh, he replied." She unlocked her phone to find he replied with two words. I'm sorry. Lily tilted her head. What could Reggie possibly be sorry for. For what? It took a few seconds for Reggie to reply. Check your Instagram. Lily raised an eyebrow. What was Reggie talking about? Once she saw the post, her eyes widened, then narrowed.

Chuck Clayton was going down.
