Tris's POV

I was planning on walking up to my grey walls, maybe a kind text from Christina saying she's coming, or the smell of food, or flowers, or something nice.

But, instead, I get Christina breathing in my face, Marlene tripping over my tissue box, and the sound of Caleb in the shower, running water, and I can barely hear my squeak.

"What are you doing here?" I swung my legs off my bed, and rubbed the corner of my eyes. Marlene nurses her foot, taking the leisure to sit on my bed.

"How was it with Tobias, huh?" Marlene asked.

"Hmmm, did anything last night?" Christina wiggled her eyebrows. "Doing any addition.. Multiplication?"

"That was the worst joke I've ever heard." I press my hands into my face.

(That all was an Allegiant quote)

"Anyways, we're going to the pit. Dress you up and stuff, tons of hot guys-"

"Christina." I interrupt. "I'm dating someone." Marlene and Christina stare at me.

"You're dating Uriah?"

"You're dating Tobias?"

"Marlene!" My eyes widen. "I would never date Uriah because he means so much to you!"

"Thanks Tris." Marlene smiles at me, and then realizes- "Wait! You're dating Tobias!"

"Yes...?" It came out as a question.

"Yes, I am." Christina's eyes go wide.

"Of course!" She blabbed. "It's a special date, after all. But on his first date, he's suppose to just get to know you-"

"Christina he's known me forever." I say. She turns pink at what she said.

"I was just thinking about Wi..." She mumbles, trailing off. And then turns bright red.

"You're dating?!" Marlene shouts.

"Well..."

"I think he asked her out after their date last night." I say, smiling when Christina turns into the color of a ripe tomato. As said, red.

"Tris!" She hisses, as if anyone else might hear. "Did you have to?" She groans.

"Yes." I reply. "Now please exit my room when I dress and I am not trying to look flashy for the guys."

Marlene waves bye, going home, and Christina fidgets in the hall complaining about how I have no fashion or anything and if she could at least do something to my eyes. I tell her to shut up, and that saying she needs to improve my eyes is an insult. I change, then let her in.

"Well . . ." Christina drags me by my elbow out if my house. "I'm picking up Tobias, so lucky you, getting the front seat."

"I am." I state simply. "Because as I've said the back of your car-"

"- smells like nail polish." Christina finishes. "I know. You insist."

"I do." I say, and she just pulls up to his house, leaving me alone in the car. I tap my hands on the console, trying to remember distinct snatches of morse code that Uriah taught me in fifth grade. I really need to talk to him.

"Hey Tris." I look up to Tobias, and peck him on the cheek.

"Hi!"

"Now don't you go all third wheel on me." Christina slides into the drivers seat. Tobias slips his and in mins from his seat in the back. Christina sees, and winks at me.

-------thee majestic line break-----

"There are boys checking me out." Christina tucked a short curl behind her ear, and fidgeted as she checked out a pair of sun glasses at a kiosk. Normally, Christina would love a guy looking her way, and perk up, but with Will, she felt uncomfortable.

"C'mon Christina."Tobias just pulls her hand away. "The ones at the kiosks are expensive. Lets just pop into Target and buy a pair if you need them." Of course, being a boy didn't help him learn the first rule if shopping with Christina, you can't do clothes at Target. He did know, Christina didn't want to be looked at.

"What about the food court or Forever 21, or Victorias secret?" I suggested to cheer Christina up, but immediately I regret my words.

"Victoria's secret?" Christina's eyes lit up. "I need to go there!"

"Isn't it that store were, like, the women are stripping in the pictures in window?" Tobias frowned.

"They're not idiot!" Christina shrieked. "Besides, those clothes are sexy!"

"They're undergarments that are skimming minimum length!" He burst. I laughed.

"Guys!" I took Christina's wrist, and Tobias' hand. "I'm getting a pretzel." I took then over to the little store, and ordered two to share. We sat down at a small table across from the Body Works shop.

"You know what?" Tobias said, after a minute of silence. "That would be cool." He pointed to a store, at closer look read "TORI TATTOO PARLOR".

"You want a tattoo?" Christina put down her pretzel.

"Yeah." He stated. "I feel like, I would feel more permanent. I would have something for ever on me. It's just so powerful." We just sat in silence for the rest of our snack. Finally, we got up and walked around for half an hour. Nothing much, except for comments, and the reoccurring argument with Christina, about the clothe stores she wanted to go in.

"I don't want to go to school tomorrow!" Christina. I nodded in agreement. I sat quietly in the car on the way home, and when Christina dropped me off I just nodded, and kissed Tobias. And as soon as we got back- I knew something was... Off.

Usually Caleb took to finishing his homework friday night, proceeding his Saturday and Sunday reading informational texts. Saturday would be full of the education, economical and science magazines that arrived that day. Sunday it was all the science textbooks and any other material he could get his hands on, plus the post, to be informed on the works. But Caleb was not in his reading corner. It was situated between the big bookshelf and the corner of the wall. Caleb claimed he preferred the artificial light, but that room was right In front of the street, so in the corner he would turn on his reading light away from the blue sky and the sun, but he wanted to stay in the room to"observe the community" in his words.

Well, actually more like stalk the postman, with his eyes.

But Caleb was not there, and when I looked up the stairs, Caleb was slamming the door in my parents face.

"What about the math club?" He said, muffled through the door.

"Caleb, we only-" My mom started, as she tapped the door softly. But my dad stopped by coughing.

"Natalie." He turned and gestured at me. My mom turned, and started acting nonchalant.

"Beatrice, dear..." She trailed off, glanced at my father, then coughed. "Well, your father and I have agreed that the education system in your school is not the highest. We are sending you to the high school your father and I went, Abby Gation Memorial Secondary School." (Abby Gation, say it out loud, it's like Abnegation).

"Wait, I'm switching schools? Leaving my friends?" I blinked. Tobias, Christina, Marlene... Everyone? To some boring school?

"It has produced very great students, and, Bea? Are you listening?" My dad said.

"I- dad, I'm going to just think, okay?" I bit my lip, and turned on my heel, going into my room, and closing the door. I didn't cry hysterically or anything, instead I sat on my bed, unlocked my iPhone and just stated at the screen for what seemed like a very long time.
