Chapter 2
(Blaze POV)
I walk into the office, against my will, but still I go peacefully. Best not fight now, I could get expelled. If I got expelled Jade would be free to Jake. Free for him to whatever he wishes with her and unfortunately I'm not sure if she'd refuse him. I see the way they look at each other. It sickens me, to be perfectly honest. It doesn't surprise me though, because Jade is truly amazing. I just don't know about Jake's motives with her. I swear to God if he touches my best friend I'll kill him. He is supposed to be my friend too, we tolerate each other for Jade but it's clear he doesn't like me. I act like I'm unaware though, and I'm nice to him. On the inside though, I think he could be the antichrist, but that's probably just my opinion. Jade certainly doesn't share it, and I wonder what I did wrong. Why can't she love me?
I sit down in a chair next to Jade and across from Mr. Bealle. He's a nice guy, but I understand that he's got to do his job. He looks distressed from Jade to me and then to Jade again. He's already decided who's responsible and he's correct. He'll suspend her and I'll have to be here. I will either have to deal with too much Jake or he'll skip and stay with Jade. I place my bets on the latter. I can't let happen. I have to get myself suspended.
"It was my fault, Jade was stopping a bullying situation when they turned on her." I start," So I had to stop them from hurting her. She still got hit though."
"Jake!" Jade suddenly exclaims. I turn to see Jake walk by the office door, giving us a concerned look. Here I was hoping we could get out without him knowing. A few hours of peace, is it so much to ask? Evidently.
"Miss Dreamer, if you could please focus your attention on more important matters rather than your boyfriend?" Mr. Bealle suggests. Jade frowns and turns to face us again.
"It wasn't Blaze's fault, I provoked them." She tells him.
"I still attacked them." I say.
"I expected better from you, Mr. Harris. Jade is prone to unadvisable activities such as this but I had hoped it was beyond you, Blaze." He answers.
"I'm sorry but I couldn't stand by and let her get hurt. I would've gotten a teacher but I don't know how badly she would've gotten hurt in the meantime." I apologize. Even if I want him to suspend me that doesn't mean I want him to think badly of me.
"Alright, You both have a week's suspension. I'm going to contact your parents." He tells us. I sigh in relief. I can watch her this way. Jade and I walk out of the office and I take her hand in mine, afraid Jake will come and steal her from me as usual. We get into parking lot and into my car before we say anything.
"You didn't have to do that, you shouldnt have been suspended." She says.
(Jade POV)
I wasnt surprised at blaze trying to take the blame and now i felt guilty but also a bit mad, ' blaze why didnt you just let me take the fall , after all my nan would understand cause she knows about me '
' ill be grand , i didnt want to end up being in school while you get to be home and relax ' He half joked . I sighed why couldnt he let me do my job , it wasnt his job . It was mine , everytime blaze got in trouble , i felt bad but hey i was selfish i couldnt live without him . Blaze caught me looking guilty ' Hey i did what i wanted you didnt make me '
' i know , i know now shut me i need a coffee '
' to the cafe it is then ' He laughed .
I recieved a text and i glaced down seeing it was jake hey jake , you still at school '
' aww no couldnt stick it anymore , besides couldnt find you any where , are u sick or something i miss you '
' Aww no im grand , im going to the cafe with blaze '
' aww crap did he ask you out ' I laughed oh i hope he's getting jelous maybe then he'll ask me out. I smiled softly
' no he didnt remember he's my best friend we will never be anything more it would be gross, besides why would you care '
' because jade i want you all to myself , and besides if you accepted a date from him how would you accept a date from me '
I was smiling so much , i laughed omg he just asked me out finally , i began to breath fast and Blaze looked over at me ' Whats so good jade , your parents coming back '
' no even better ' I laughed still smiling when i looked down at my phone
another text from him comming up
' em jade is that slience a yes or no your making me nervous ' I cursed and blaze looked at me strangely , i held my fingue up to show him one moment
' yes of course sorry i was talking to blaze '
' ok then , see ya at the cafe '
' omg are you coming '
' yea im bored '
' see ya '
i smiled so hard blushing and all ' Blaze guess what Jake finally asked me out , tonight and he is meeting us at the cafe '
I noticed him tense but he smiled ' thats great jade im really happy for you '
' i cant beileve it '
I heard blaze say something under his breath it sounded like , i can but i wasnt sure , i smiled all the way to the cafe where we went out , but Blaze siad he needed a moment to call him parents . So i walked in and sat besides Jake talking about are date . He even told me he though i looked really pretty today .
(Blaze POV)
I lied, I'm not calling my parents. I am getting myself under control before I go in there with them. I cannot just stroll right in, God knows I'll end up flaming out in front of everyone. I cannot take that risk. Sighing, I walk into the café. There they are, sitting the table next to each other. his hand in=s on her lap under the table and it makes me want to hurl. I sit down at the table across from them and struggle to keep my chill composure.
"Afternoon, Jake." I say.
"You seem tense?" He asks.
"Well, I just got suspended for protecting Jade." I mutter.
"She was hurt?!" He asks in concern that seems genuine. I doubt it really is though.
"Some bullies." She answers.,
'Who was it? I'm not letting anyone hurt my girl." He says stubbornly. Just, kill me now? This isn't going well.
"Hey Jade, your nan says you have be home in a hour. We gotta leave soon." I lie. Her nan will back me up on that, she likes me a lot. Even better, she doesn't like Jake.
"Oh." She says sadly.
"Sorry, but we have to listen." I say.
"I see you later though?" Jake asks, I want to scream NO but I remain collected.
