Chapter 7

The next day when I walked into the classroom Izumi called me Mei instead of Shinonome. It made a little happy knowing that I made a friend. Later she asked me to come with her as she wanted to tell me something.

"What is it?" I asked after we checked that nobody was near.

"You remember what I told you before the duel, right?" she asked me.

I thought a little and she told that she would remain in the Academy if she banished me so I nodded.

"In this Academy there's someone who wants to eliminate you." Izumi told me.

"Who is it?" I asked nervously.

"It's Shinobu-sama." she replied.

"Lucia-sama's butler? But why?" I asked myself.

"He told me that there was condition. You had to be gone. So the person who wants to eliminate you is..."

"Lucia-sama." I finished for her.

"That is wrong." Shinobu said walking in "There is no need to be alarmed." he said "I only came to tell you the truth. I certainly planned to eliminate Mei-sama from the Academy but I planned it on my own."

"Why did you do that on your own?" Izumi asked him.

"Everything is for Lucia-sama's sake." he answered "Mei-sama, please come this way." he said and I followed him.

He led me to the greenhouse. There I saw Rihito and Lucia-sama who held his hand. Shinobu told me that Rihito was Lucia-sama's butler one year ago. He told me that he was her second butler at that time. That she was sick and rarely attended lessons so few poeple knew about Rihito being her butler.

"The one who tore these two apart Mei-sama, is you." he said and I felt tears soming to my eyes.

He told me that if I weren't here then Lucia-sama wouldn't have to go through all this trouble and be the Hongo's family one and only lady.

"If you weren't here, he wouldn't have needed to leave Lucia-sama's side." Shinobu said and his words echoed in my head "Lucia-sama didn't fall ill because of anything physical. Rather she felt ill because the most precious existance was taken away from her and her heart started withering."

I looked up and saw Lucia-sama standing up and she hugged him. He was staring at her so lovingly this whole time.

"They long for each other to that extent." Shinobu said as I watched the two hug each other.

I felt the tears were about to fall so I walked away. I couldn't take it anymore. After all how much more did I need to see to understand that my feelings are one-sided? I ran to the lake in the forest and Shinobu followed me. He said he'll guess my feelings. What a joke!

"For you it is painful. But I as Lucia sama-s butler-"

"You as Lucia-sama's butler want to bring Shibata Rihito back to her at all costs." I said it for him "That's why you made me and Izumi fight."

"The happiness of our ladies is our happiness as butlers." he said smirking "But you are no exception, Mei-sama." he said walking closer to me "Lucia-sama, whom I serve longs for Shibata Rihito. And Shibata Rihito also longs for Lucia-sama. So.." he said getting extremely close to me "You who are hurt by loneliness, I thought I could ease your pain." he said and then he kissed me without a warning. I was dumbfounded and couldn't move.

I pushed him away.

"This is sexual assault. Stop messing around." I said getting myself together "The next time you do that I won't let you go unharmed." I said walking away "Besides I've already made my resolution!" I yelled when I turned around and then resumed walking.
