The one left behind (A Kakashi fanfiction)

awakening

kakashis pov:

kage. she had been in a sleep like state for two weeks. i miss seeing her smile.

i haven't left the side of her bed, besides bathroom breaks, in fear that i would miss the day she would wake up.

right now, i was starring at her beautiful face as she slept.

"kakashi." i heard someone say quietly walking into kages hospital room. i didn't look away from kage.

"kakashi look at me when i speak to you." it was a women's voice, she sounded aggravated.

"kakashi, you don't look good. when was the last time you ate, or slept?" i recognize the voice.... tsunade.

"when was the last time you saw kage awake?" i sassily replied, i heard a sigh escape from her lips.

"you need to eat. i understand what your going through. but we can't lose two ninjas in the same month. kakashi, please eat." she said holding an apple in front of my pale face.

"you think she's going to die? is that what you are implying?!" i sobbed standing up to look her in the eye. a wave of dizziness washed over me. i held onto the railing on the bed to hold my balance.

"k-kakashi." i looked down to see kage, her eyes open, hand on top of mine. her voice was soft, her face looked even more pale then normal.

"tsunade is right. please eat." she looked at me with concern plastered all over her pale face. she then turned to tsunade.

"i'm hungry, can you get us both some food please?"

"of course. and kage, welcome back." tsunade smiled at kage before walking out of the room to fetch us both some food. i looked down at kage, she was smiling her beautiful, sweet smile. i felt tears form behind my eyes as i leant down to lay in the bed with her. i wrapped my arms around her small torso and cried softly onto her shoulder.

"kage. i- i thought i lost you."

"no, i'm here. i'm okay. i'm alive." we laid in her bed cuddling for a while before tsunade came back with our food. i sat up and moved to the foot of her bed so i could sit and look at her beautiful face.

"i really missed you, you know." i said a mouth full of bread.

"i know. kakashi,"

"mhm."

"thank you for staying here the whole time i was out. by the way, how long was i out for?"

"about two weeks, and, no problem." she smiled, then looked down at her plate.

"is everything alright?"

"oh, mhm. i'm fine." she smiled looking back up at me. this girl is just too damn cute.
