It had been eight years that I had been imprisoned and finally I was being released and my name cleared.

The doors of the courthouse opened after my final proceeding and I stepped out towards the car that would bring me to a job interview. One of Max's friends Jospeh was behind the wheel and smiled kindly at me as I climbed into the front passenger seat.

Joseph was taking me to a children's book publishing company in town called Kitten Publishing. It was near where Joseph, a few other guys and I were staying.

I looked out the window at the passing scenery and let out a shaky breath, soft rock music playing in the background. I turned and looked at Jospeh. He smiled and reached over, giving me a pat on the shoulder before telling me I would be okay.

He opened the windows to let me get some fresh air, telling me that it would help calm me.

He was actually right. The breeze felt nice on my face and I enjoyed the quiet company beside me.

After Max died his friends or "contacts" outside the prison got in contact with me. Joseph was the first to visit me and was the lead in pleasing my case. Apparently Max wanted to help me get out and have my name cleared. Thinking about it makes my heart clench.

They did some digging and were able to prove flaws in case and investigation and were able to give it to a lawyer but they weren't able to pin it on my father like I had hoped.

I squeezed my hands into fists.

The car finally came to a stop and I took a deep breath. I thanked my new friend before stepping out and closing the door. I walked slowly up to the front desk and checked myself in.

I grabbed myself a name tag and wrote my name on it before sticking it to my jacket coat. I'm so happy that my lawyer helped me with my interview and a change of clothes.

I stepped into the elevator and clicked floor twenty five. I stepped back and waited, swaying back and forth slightly. I felt awkward and strange wearing heels and make up and having a purse hanging from my shoulders again. Wearing a suit felt even more weird.

I took a deep breath as the doors opened and I stepped out of the elevator. I step up to the secretary of the woman I am going to meet and check in before sitting down to wait.

I look at my hands and then up to the window. The cityscape is spread out before us and I watch for a few minutes as the birds fly by and see cars driving far down the street.

My name was finally called and I shakily stood up. I followed the young girls direction down the hallway to the office of Ms.Hope Lintel.

I knocked on the door. I heard a muffled come in from the inside and I opened the door. My heart began to race as I took a step inside and closed the door.

"Hello Theresa Dean, it's a pleasure to meet you."

The woman that stood in front of me had large ringlets of what used to be dark brown and are now dyed blonde curls. Her skin was tanner then in her pictures and her green eyes looked brighter.

"Hello Ms.Lintel or shall I call you Nicolette Hanson?"

The smile fell from her lips but her eyes never left my gaze. "Well, looks like I've been found out after all."
