"ELIZABETH! COME OVER HERE YOU FILTHY BITCH!"
The first words that greet me when I get home after school. I walked slower than normal because my best friend had trouble finding her keys, and now father is angry at me for not being home on time. Normally I manage to get home fairly quickly, but evidently not this day.
I rush from the door to the living room as quietly as possible not wanting to anger father any further, when all of a sudden I hear the sound of a whining wolf.
I quickly turn around and run back to the door only to see mom standing there in the beautiful wolf-form she acquired when I was only 4 years old. After finding her wolf, her other half, she could find her mate. She loves father though, so we stay here, I have my friend at school and she has the forests she grew up with to keep us happy.
Waving at her with a big smile on my face, I turn around and rush inside as to not keep father waiting. He hasn't found his wolf, yet he still loves mother. Mother is actually the only one in the village to have found her wolf, the ones to provide us safety are the men of this village, who have trained for several years even though they don't have their wolf.
After quickly making up an excuse I go outside again, it's already autumn but that only makes the trees more beautiful and the weather is still nice.
I'm attacked in some kind of hug as soon as my raven haired best friend Lily sees me, and it's a little too tight to be comfortable if I'm completely honest.
"Hey! I missed you, we should chill here more often!" she says releasing me out of her strangling hug.
"Okay Lily, I shall see if I have some free time left." I really like her, and I want her to be happy, but family first right? And it's not like she doesn't see me every day anyway.
"Oh come on, loosen up gal. Anyway, what classes do we have tomorrow? 'Cause I'd like, love to see the hunk in sports." she says flipping her hair and blinking like he is in front of her.
"Languages for the first 4 hours," I know both of our schedules by heart, because she couldn't remember hers for the life of it. "and I have advanced mathematics after that while you indeed have sports, I don't think I've seen him anywhere except for at art though..." Of course I haven't seen him, I'm way too shy and uncomfortable for that.
After that we both took our leave, longing to see eachother at school. Lily is someone I can trust and in turn she trusts me, we know secrets no one else knows so it's hard sometimes that we hardly see eachother. Father doesn't like it when I go out and Lily has quite strict foster parents as well, and they live on the other side of town.

One letter. Elizabeth had to get the mail for her father, Baze, after dinner. She came back with that letter. One slightly foxed envelope, with one bright white letter, able to send both Baze and Mirann, her mother in despair while poor Elizabeth did not know what was going on.
Her sobbing mother told her that she, as the only werewolf in the village, had to fight the kings felons to keep everyone safe. That she would be back as soon as possible and that Elizabeth's father would take good care of her.
Mirann's moody husband ordered Elizabeth to go upstairs while he was comforting her weeping mother. He told her to go to sleep because the letter was bearer of very bad news. That didn't mean anything to Elizabeth though, and she could still see her mom weeping, but she complied to his request in fear of punishment and driving her mother even deeper down the hole she got in.
She didn't sleep that night. Or the nights after. Only after a week did she sleep, and that was purely because of exhaustion. Baze started hurting her mentally alongside of his already bad physical abuse, screaming even more then before, saying he and his wife never cared for her, saying everything was her fault. She believed everything said to her. Parents don't lie after all. You don't lie to people you love, or in this case rather; loved.
