Chapter Two - Familiar Faces

I was finally let out of the hospital. I decided to go to Stefan's to hopefully get some answers. I pulled up and saw Elena's car outside. I balled my fist and knocked twice on the large door. When it opened I thought it would be Stefan but it wasn't. His face was familiar but I don't know how.

" Maddie what are you doing here?" Elena asked once she saw me.

" I'm looking for Stefan I need to talk to him " I explained as I walked more into the house. It was really hard keeping this secret it was killing me. I couldn't help but admire his house. It was beautiful. It was an old Victorian home. Cosy but elegant.

" So you are Madelyn. I'm Damon, Stefan's brother" he took my hand and kissed it, not breaking eye contact. Before any of us could say another word Stefan showed up.

" Elena. Madelyn. I didn't know you were coming over." He said staring quite angrily at his brother. I was surprised that he was surprised he was the one who said he would explain things, so here I am trying to get him to explain. Elena walked closer to Stefan.

" I know I should have called--" She tried to explain but Damon cut her off.

" Oh, don't be silly. You're welcome any time. You to Maddie. Aren't they, Stefan?" I could tell Stefan was getting more angry and so could Damon. I stared at Stefan mussels as the flexed.

Snap out of it Maddie I told myself and focus back on the conversation. Damon said some about photo albums and home movies but I was getting very uncomfortable so I ignored the conversation again.

" Thank you for stopping by. It's was nice to see you two." I just scoffed and walked out. So much for getting answers. I got in my car and felt my phone buzz.

Sorry will explain everything later.

Stefan wrote. I sighed and type back.

Grill. 4:00 don't be late

I put my phone back on my pocket and started driving home. I got home and flopped onto my bed. There is definitely hatred between Stefan and Damon. It seemed serious. I kept getting messages from Elena asking me what's going between me and Stefan. She didn't believe me when I said no. But I couldn't write Stefan is a blood sucking vampire. Sorry haven't got all the det's XOXO :)
I couldn't say that. Stefan needs to tell her. I don't know how much longer I can keep this up.
I checked the time and realised I only had five minutes until I had to met Stefan. I sighed as I got up out of my bed.

We were outside the grill just sitting in silence. I didn't know what to ask. There are so many thing going through my was I don't know which one to pick.
" Weakness. What are your weaknesses?" I asked leaning forward so my crossed arms could sit in the table.

" You want to know my weaknesses?" He asked I nodded.

" If someone else try's to attack me I want to be ready." I stated as we both tried not to laugh.

" There is an herb called vervain it burns us. Only some of us can walk in the sun, we have special rings or necklaces that stop us from burning. We can be killed by a wooden stake through the heart" I smiled of how cliche it all sounded but at the same time it was different from all the stories I read.

" What about blood?"

" Most drink human however I drink animal. It makes me weaker than a normal vampire."

" Then why drink it?" Why drink animal and make yourself weak than strong.

" Human blood has a very bad effect on me and I don't want that to happen again" that's why.
