Chapter 9

The first thing I saw was the white ceiling, it was too white, like how you'd expect heaven to look minus the smell of antiseptic.

That's when I realised that there was someone was holding my hand, there was also that god damn awful beeping.

"What happened?" I crocked.

"You passed out, the doctors have no clue how it happened, so they are going to run some tests," Ash told me, gripping onto my hand.

I sighed, dad was going to be pissed.

"I need to get home," I told him, with a urgency to my voice.

"Alisha-princess, you can't go home," he told me. I scowled at him.

I laid my head black on the hard pillow. I glared at the ceiling like it was the ceilings fault.

I heard the door open, and a doctor walked in, and Julia behind him.

"Julia?" Ash questioned.

"Isn't this Night Howlers room? Why doesn't she have brown hair?" Julia demanded looking at my wig.

"What are you doing here, Julia," Ash growled.

"My dad said that he was Night Howlers doctor, so I came to see," Julia said, while my doctor-her dad, checked about 4 cables running into my body.

"Can I go home?" I asked the doctor.

"We need to run some test-okay, it's settled I'm going home," I finished for the doctor.

He looked torn. "Please," I whispered.

He nodded, probably scared, because the Alpha  and a supposed street fighter was watching him.

He walked out of the room, and I saw Julia flirting with Ash.

"Ashhh, there are no more chairs, can I sit on your lap?" She asked him, I growled.

My growl scared all of us including me, that was unexpected.

"Hold up, you are mates? But why do you remind me of a loser at school?" Julia asked.

Julia studied me.

"Y-yo-you're Alisha?! And Night Howler?!" She asked me stunned, and I just ignored her and looked at the roof.

"You are, boy, this is going to be fun," Julia said smirking, and left the room.

Fuck, my life was screwed, I furrowed my forehead, I felt Ash's hands rubbing the crinkles on my forehead.

"That look doesn't suit you," he told me laughing.

The doctor re entered the room, "here are the papers that you have to sign, here and here," he told me pointing to the sheet and I signed it.

"Now your going to have to use crutches, not sure for how long, but your bone is completely shattered, so no fighting, also the cause for you fainting was a concussion, so please be careful and if it happens again it'd be strongly advised if you come back," he told me and I nodded at him.

He handed me the crutches, I got up and tried to move forward. I succeeded, but it must of looked really funny.

"Can I please get out of this hospital gown?" I asked the doctor and he nodded.

"Your street fighting clothes are in you bag," the doctor told me and I nodded, I went and got changed.

Once I was done, Ash was waiting for me outside the room.

Once I was done I hobbled my way out on my crutches and we made our way to his car.

Apparently Dan and Damian had gone home.

Ash held the door open for me, I laughed and got in. He took my bag and crutches from me and put them in the back.

"Where do you live?" He asked me.

"Um, shit," I told him.

"Can we go to the Howl and can you drive my car home, then get away from my house as fast as you can," I told Ash, and he nodded.

We arrived at the Howl, it was almost deserted, there were fights during the day, but I refused to fight them.

I put the hood on my hoodie on, and then put my sunglasses on, just in case someone saw me.

Ash helped me to my car, and put me in the
passenger seat.

I thanked him and he got into the drivers side, I chucked him the keys.

"Do you know if I got any money in that fight?" I asked Ash, and he shook his head.

"You got nothing," I groaned, I'm only $100 of the amount that I need for the surgery plus extra, just in case something goes wrong.

"Why does it seem that money is so important to you?" Ash questioned.

"My mum has Lung cancer, if you didn't know, and I'm just $100 off my goal then I can get the treatment done. Also now that I can barely walk, I won't be able to go to work, and that means that I won't be able to keep giving my dad money for his alcohol. Oh, shit," I said as I realised that meant that I was going to get the butt end of this.

Ash was looking at me with concern.

We pulled up at my house and I pressed the button to open the garage. Ash pulled the car up, and helped me out of the car.

"Go," I whispered as I made my way to the house.

"I'm back," I yelled as I entered the house. My house seemed mostly peaceful.

I hobbled up to my room, almost falling on the stairs, backwards, twice.

I opened up my bag and I saw a white envelope.

It said on the back, 'Love, Ash x' I looked at it confused and there was money in it.

I picked up the money and I counted $1000 this was insane.

I picked up my phone, and I realised that I didn't have Ash's number.

I sighed and scrolled through my contacts, it was like no one.

I saw a contact that caught my name.

'The best mate in the world' I sighed at the name.

'The best mate, huh?' I sent him.

'I'll be anything for you,'

'Thank you for the money, but why?'

'As I said Alisha, I'll do anything for you'

'Thank you.'
