Whiteleaf Elementary School

13:52

After a short pause at a cafeteria where she ate to her full contentment at Greg's expense, he drove her to Whiteleaf Elementary school.

Oh yeah, back to learning, girl!

She stepped out of his suffocating car and stood in front of the entrance of the building. Wow. It looked sophisticated. She had been told by Greg that it was the wife of the mayor who managed this institution.

It was the top, the one parents would want to send their five year old to develop their skills.

It seemed there was a short recess since she saw the cute little kids playing in the school's yard. How she loved children! So innocent and happy. She started to walk towards the main entrance and Greg locked his car, before joining her.

He warned her, "Stay on your guard. Kids are dangerous."

He had already told her why they were here. They had come to seek permission from the headmistress to watch on a specific child. He wondered if she understood everything he told her in the car.

It was as if she had hardly been paying attention to his words. And to say John wanted this woman to join their delicate operation.

They were laughing so much. Duh. She felt slightly jealous. She was tempted to join them. Those kids didn't know how harsh reality was...yet.

She was amused when she saw a long graffiti of blue paint along a side of the wall. Wow. Just who's the mischievous child who did this!

Greg said, "We must talk to Sarah Moray before going further inside- are you even listening Kaitlyn?"

"Um? Why don't you go and talk to her you yourself!"

He impatiently said, "Come with me. The information will be important to you."

Blabla and bla.

She didn't want unnecessary details. She liked to follow her instincts when it came to investigating. She followed him.

And he continued, "You should pay attention to everything around you. Your task will be delicate. You should understand how a..."

She gradually slowed down and eventually stopped following him as he entered the part of the school which would lead to the headmistress's office.

With a smile, she stepped back sneakily, his voice fading away as she distanced herself. Alright, as per the description he gave her. The boy was six year old. Mischievous. Cunning. Had black hair, blue eyes and was named Adrian.

How to locate him amidst this little world? She saw a bunch of little boys, laughing like crazy, running past her and she halted one, "Hey there, do you know Adrian?"

The boy with blonde hair, still joggling on his little feet, pointed towards the first level and ran off to join his friends. Aw so cute. She'd find her way herself. Since he pointed towards the first level, she guessed she'd start there.

She raised her head, covered her eyes to prevent the sunlight from hitting her directly and looked towards the first floor of the building. Now where to take the stairs?

Suddenly, as a form began to appear from the baluster, she became alerted. What was that? And in a jiffy, the object fell from that height, its contents coming out of it. Damn it. She made a move fast enough to grab two little girls and move them from the spot.

The bin banged hard as it slammed on the ground while the tiny papers and detritus flew around them.

"You okay?" She let go of the little girls who seemed taken aback and confused, not knowing what just happened. Kaitlyn stepped back hastily, trying to see who did such a villainous act but could not make out even the form of the person. Oho, it meant that the criminal was a kid.

She located the nearby stairs with her eyes dashed there as she avoided those children who were just running around and laughing at what they called 'confetti' and what she called 'rubbish'. The small papers were still dancing in the air as they fell from the height.

She ran up the steps grabbed the railing and in hardly five seconds, she had reached the floor. At the far end of the corridor, she saw a second bin being lifted and she exclaimed, "Hey you!"

The little boy, still holding the bin in his little hands, slowly stopped by the baluster as he heard her. She continued, "Put that bin down."

Just when she thought he was going to cooperate, he just threw the bin over the baluster and took off. She instantly looked down, thankful that no one got hurt. She instantly chased after the little boy, wanting to at least see his face. She was closing in!

He rapidly took something from his pocket and threw them with quite a force on the floor. Damn it. Marbles. She couldn't stop herself in time and her stupid tennis shoes had to run over them, making her lose her stability and she slid.

She saw the devil escaping through another staircase that led to the ground floor and she, well, she went crashing against the large recycle bin.

The round shape object took off from its spot and rolled on the floor towards the stairs only to be stopped by something. Kaitlyn raised her hand, grabbed the baluster and hauled herself up, grumbling as she dusted her shoulder.

"I'm cleaning and you are messing around, miss? Vandalism! Who are you?" A loud voice boomed, coming from the huge man who stopped the bin from rolling down the stairs. He had a scary broom in his hand and an annoyed expression on his face.

She took a cautious step, feeling awkwardly amused.

"That's not my fault! There was a boy-" She was interrupted,

"He told me it was you who-"

"Bye!"

She rushed past him, escaping through the flight of stairs. The savage. Both him and the kiddo.

Once she spotted Greg waiting near the gate, looking ridiculously annoyed, she smiled broadly.

He fired, "Where were you?"

She waved with her hand that it was not important, "Just...visiting!"

"I obtained permission from Sarah. You've got access to this school anytime- Who's this man?"

She turned and saw the caretaker coming with a broom in her direction. She instantly gave Greg a hard shove, "Come on! Let's get out of here!"

Before he left the workplace, his secretary again warned him that the threats that Sarah Moray said this morning seemed genuine. He did not give the slight damn.

In annoyance, he had told her that she should focused on her job as his secretary rather than on his life.

He needed everything to be strictly professional whether it was at the workplace or at his villa. His reason for living was the business only.

After he had refreshed himself, he went to his study to do his paperwork as usual. He heard fast steps approaching.

Adrian ran in front of his door, stopped to look at him. Their gazes met for a few seconds. Complete hatred for each other reflected in their eyes. They were strangers. The boy made a face at him and then ran off.

Ignoring him, Tyler continued his job. That little pest was insignificant in his life. He heard the chime of the doorbell ringing once...and the sound was repeated a minute later.

Disturbed, he shouted, "Becca! Answer to the door, damn it!"

"Sure sir. I was going to!" The housekeeper responded in panic as she heard his booming voice.

She dashed to the door.

Becca opened the door quickly and asked breathlessly, "Ye...yes?"
