-Austin-
Wednesday is our last day in New York, and we spend it out in the city. Somehow, Calli managed to convince me into going shopping with her. She spends over three hours in one store trying on as many different dresses as she can. After spending so long in one store, she bribes me with food to go into another store. This one, is nothing but makeup and hair supplies. When I roll my eyes and groan, wheeling through the door, I hear her giggling. She had this whole thing planned.
After spending nearly the entire day at the mall, Calli and I are back in the hotel room. The night is used for ordering as much room service as we can, movies, and throwing the remainder food at each other. Calli falls over against her pillow, laughing hysterically, close to two in the morning. Her seizure medication hasn't been made her tired yet, so we are using that to our advantage. I fall against the sheets next to her, watching her chest rise and fall rapidly during her laughing fit. Watching her, I can't even remember what made her laugh in the first place.
I roll over her body, trying to force her to stop laughing. Of course, it doesn't help and her laughs increase again. I feel myself laughing along with her, as I watch every trace of worry leave her face. She looks so much younger with the wide smile, closed eyes, and adorable laugh slipping from her mouth. The last three days here have been good for our relationship. We've finally had a chance to spend time together, alone, and do everything we want to.
Nearly an hour later, Calli has finally fallen asleep. Once the laughing fit had subsided, I remind Calli how much I love her in every way I can. I fall asleep watching the gentle rise and fall of her chest. Even with her eyebrows furrowed, while she's far away dreaming, she looks so peaceful and relaxed. I softly kiss her forehead, and question myself with how I got so lucky to have her.

When I wake up, close to two in the afternoon, Calli is still passed out beside me. Her head rests on my chest, and she clings to the sheet covering us both. She looks so peaceful sleeping, I don't have the heart to wake her up. Instead, I gently move her body off mine and climb off the bed. As I am in the shower, I feel more rested than I have in months. I will never admit it to her, but Calli's nightmares have taken a toll on me. She knows it does, but I will never tell her just to save her from even more guilt.
After my shower, she is still asleep. We have to leave in over an hour for the airport, so I quickly pack everything of mine away. I climb back into bed, laying behind Calli, and place a kiss against her cheek.
"Baby." I whisper in her ear. "You need to wake up."
Calli groans and scoots away from me.
"Calli." I speak a little louder. "If you want to shower before going to the airport, you have to wake up now."
She groans once again, and turns her body towards mine. Her head lays on my chest again, and her hands cling to my shirt.
"Why won't you let me sleep?" she mumbles. "I'm tired."
"Because it's already after three and we have to leave the hotel by four."
Calli finally opens her eyes and stares at me. "I really hate you right now."
I place a quick kiss against her temple. "No you don't."
I lift her into my arms and carry her into the bathroom. I set her down on the floor to get the waterproof covering on her brace. Calli rests her head against the wall, assume because she still hasn't fully woken up yet. I look at her appearance and she's completely paled, other than a sickly greenish yellow tint to her face.
"Calli?" I say softly. "Are you okay?"
She shakes her head and clutches her stomach. Before I can ask her another wuestion, she leaning to the side and grabbing onto the sides of the toilet. The sounds of her hacking and coughing are the only things I can hear.
