Austin sits on the bed, with his laptop in front of him. He has one hand rested on his chin while the other is on the mouse scrolling through different articles. He does this every night. I sit beside him and watch him stare intently at the different pages he has opened. I usually keep quiet and ignore his furious typing, but tonight my curiousty gets the better of me.

"What is it you're looking at every night?" I ask him.

He glances at the closed door, then turns to face me. "I'm looking for private investigators."

"Why are you doing that?" I sit up, more intrigued.

"I had a talk with Cori after the big appointment a few weeks ago, and she told me a lot about Derek." He says. "I want to help find him for her."

It's been about two months since that doctor's appointment Austin's talking about. I'm now at twenty six weeks, with a higher chance of survival for our baby. Every week we went in for a check up, and every time the amniotic fluid rates have dropped. Austin and I have been less stressed and more ready to have this baby. We've taken every precaution Doctor Maria has given us; I've been taking more prenatal vitamins, eating a lot healither, and not staying on my feet too long during the day. All of these seem to have been helping me and the baby.

I smile at Austin. "Have you found anything?"

"Actually I have." He smiles back at me. "I hired one guy already to go out looking for him; he says he's spotted Derek twice already."

"Where has he seen him?"

"Downtown Miami. Every Tuesday he goes in to a coffee shop at nine and sits there for an hour." He replies. "He's going back tomorrow to see if he'll show again."

"What happens if Derek does show up?"

"You and I will be there the following Tuesday waiting for him." Austin sighs.

"Why not Cori?" I ask.

"If he sees her, he might get freaked out or run." He says. "I'm not taking any chances on this."

"I love that you want to help Cori, but why are you so determined to do this?"

Austin shrugs his shoulders. "I don't really know, honestly. I guess just because I can see how hurt she is, and it makes me think of all the times you were hurting like that. I did everything in my power to help you, so I want to do the same for Cori."

I can't help but smile widely at Austin. I've always loved how big his heart his and how he's always so ready to help anybody in need.

'Have I told you how much I love you?" I ask, leaning against him.

Austin chuckles and kisses my forehead. "I love you more."

I lay my head on his chest, just listening to his heart beat. He has one armed wrapped around my back, softly brushing his fingers through my hair.

"What are you going to say when we see Derek?" I ask him.

Austin sighs heavily. "I don't know yet. I really just want to find out why he left her and hasn't even tried to contact her."

"What if he doesn't love her anymore?" I whisper.

"That's what I'm afraid of too." Austin says. "That's why I haven't said anything about it. I don't want to get her hopes up, only for him to not want her back."

"I hope he does want her back.' I admit. "She deserves to be happy."

Austin nods his head and kisses my forehead again. "You need to get some sleep. You have a long day tomorrow."
