-Calli-
Even with the doorbell ringing, I can't bring myself to let go of Austin. I know the guys and Sarah are going to barge through the front door any minute, but I don't care. Holding onto him this way takes away the heaviness in my chest. I hate that nothing is making the nightmares go away, and that it's taking a toll on Austin. He acts like he's fine, but everyday I can see it. I see the bags under his eyes growing darker, and how hard it is to stay awake throughout the day.
"Austin!" A voice calls, more than likely Alex's.
Austin places a quick kiss to my forehead before stepping out of the embrace.
"In here." Even his voice is beginning to show exhaustion. "We'll be out in a second."
I look up at Austin. "Are you sure you're going to be okay?"
Austin pulls me back against his chest. His body radiates heat onto me, helping me relax my nerves. "I'll be fine. Let's go before one of them comes in here."
I lace our fingers together and we walk out of the bedroom. I see Alex standing beside Sarah, with his arm behind her lower back. Robert stands with his girlfriend, Ana, and Zach is off talking with his girlfriend, Ashley.
The guys moved down to Florida the same time Austin and I did; Alex and Sarah were married late last year. We've made a tradition, where every Friday night the eight of us go out to dinner. My eyes instantly dart to Sarah. She has one hand over her swollen stomach. She catches my eyes and smiles widely.
"Took you two long enough." She teases. "I thought someone was going to have to come in after you."
I can feel my cheeks flushing as they all stare and laugh. Even thought we do this every week, I always get so excited when everyone is together. There's something about seeing the four guys together that makes my heart swell with happiness. When I am with the girls I feel the same way. Sarah and I have become like sisters since my accident. She was by my side throughout everything, like my other two best friends.
Ashley and Zach started their relationship almost a year ago; she's perfect for him. For starters, she's absolutely gorgeous. Her dark red hair is always straightened and resting perfectly in place. Her blue eyes show off every emotion she feels; when she looks at Zach all you can see is pure love. Ana and Robert have only been together for a couple months, but you can see how in love they are. Ana's appearance completely contradicts Robert's, with her naturally bleach blonde hair and deep green eyes. They're both models here in Florida, and have easily become like sisters to me as well.
Even when Sarah takes three steps to wrap me in a hug, Alex stays by her side. Her pregnancy hasn't been easy, to say the least. She's scheduled to be due within the next three or four weeks, but her doctor says he'll be here sooner than that.
"Oh hush." I joke returning the hug. "How's your little monster doing?"
She laughs and rubs her hands over her stomach. "He's kicking more and more. I am definitely ready for him to pop out soon."
I look over at Ana and wave to her. She smiles and wraps me in a tight hug; for being such a tiny girl, she gives really tight hugs. Ashley joins the conversation, while the boys stand by door waiting for us to catch up.
"What about you, how are you doing?" Ashley asks me.
"Are your nightmares getting any better?" Ana questions.
I can see the concern in all three of their eyes. I want to lie and tell them everything is better, but I know they'll see right through it.
"I wish. I'm exhausted; all I want is for May to be over so I can go back to sleep soon." I try making a joke to lighten the situation.
