The noise is almost deafening. Seara feels her chest pump full of panic. Aquira stands teeth barred ready to resist. Seara flips through spellsin her head. Maybe if she was fast enough she could manage to whip up a fog without any materials but what good would that do at this point?
The black dragon jumps down all manner of fury written in his form. Even Aquira tries to take a step back.
"Dust, bring them here." Obskurn takes the chains from him without waiting for him to hand them over. He jerks the chain up placing it on a metal hook on the stone forcing them to stand on their back legs. He steps away looking for something by the firelight.
"What would be the point of this?" Aquira says her voice shaking.
"To make us feel small and helpless."
Obskurn unrolls a cloth filled with metal tools curved like sharp twisted teeth.
"We will never join you!" Aquira roars.
Obskurn holds one up testing its sharpness on the tip of his claw. "No?"
"I would rather die."
He meets her eyes testing her courage. Aquira fails to meet the challange and turns her gaze away. The black monster smiles. He turns to the bloodthirsty tribe. "As a reward for your loyalty each of you will have a turn to torture them."
Two step up eager to appease their leader. Far to eager for comfort. Others pick up the tools weighing them. The girls tense up. Seara squeezes her eyes shut. Pain splits from her wing and she draws in a sharp breath. The black dragon taps his claws impatiently. He flicks a claw towards them and before they can blink death dragons swarm them like vultures feeding off a carcass.
They could feel them reaching into their bodies, crushing bones and cutting skin. Aquira screeches in pain. Minuets turn into hours then slowly by the time midnight grows near the dauntless attacks stop. Seara huffs panting, every wound felt like it was laced with burning embers but all she can think about is water and how good it would taste. She licks the blood dripping off her nose.
Aquira sags against her chains bleeding out. "Seara..." She pants. "Help."
"I... Can't." Seara squeezes her eyes shut.
There was nothing she could do. Perhaps she could give Aquira the little life force she had left- Obskurn presses her head against the rock fully exposing her neck. Squeezing... Can't breath . The tribe roars. "This is it" Seara waits praying she would pass out like Aquira before the pain became too great. She welcomes the darkness before it even arrives. The death dragons roar, their bodies alive and excited as demons to the buring of some poor sacrafice. One stands out in the crowd, a figure, like a lone island amidst the raging sea. She locks eyes with him, and for a moment she sees something in his bright blue eyes, determination.
He rears up on his hind legs, in his paws is an orb blindingly white like the sun. The drake dosent look at his stock, he smashes it against the ground squeezing his eyes shut. Just like that everything is swiped away. Seara pants completly blinded by a mix of white and red. She can see nothing, hear nothing save for an unbearable roaring in her ears. Suddenly she slumps to the ground her chains gone. She grops in the whiteness feeling, wet ground, drentched, the smell of blood. She feels a tug on her spines and she imeaditly backs up jamming her foot on something solid. She blinks trying to get her vision back. She hears a voice that sounds distant and unrecognisable but urgent. She shakes her head to clear the haze making out thin gray shapes.
"... Have.... Now!"
"What?"
A shape reaches out to her, a paw. she backs away pressing harder against that solid thing. She feels a yelp escape her, more out of supprise then anything. She squeezes her eyes shut. When she opens them those bright blue eyes are staring back at her. He was no longer black and white but blue, all blue.
