I let go of the smile when I hear steps coming down the hallway. I back up to the wall again. Mitch hides the pizza slice quickly then he ties my hands again. I just let him for some reason. Someone twists the door knob open right as Mitch stands up and heads for the door. Right as the door opens Mitch bumps into the person opening the door. "Sorry Kirst" I hear Mitch say as he scoots past her and goes down the hall. "Mitchell come back!" I heard Kirstin yell down the hall way. Mitch walks back and says "what is it Kirst". "We have to leave this building immediately. People are passing by and staring into the house and staring at the van" Kirstin says while opening the door even more. "Mitchell grab the girl and put her in the van. Make sure you leave no evidence" says Kirstin while pointing at me. "Um ok" Mitch says while walking over to me. Kirstin walks out to gather more things to put in the van. "Please come with me Rachel. I'll make it easier than anyone else" Mitch says while untying me. I stand up shaking and let's Mitch lead me through the door to the van. "Just step up into the van and everything will be fine" Mitch says while opening the door to the van. I don't say anything and just step in. Once I have both feet in the van Kirstin pushes me to the back of the van and I fall. Once again Kirstin, Scott, Kevin, and Avi laugh. Mitch steps inside and helps me up and sits next to me in the back of the bus. "Mitchell the front of the bus now" Scott yells from the front of the bus. "I'm sorry" I hear Mitch say as he walks do the front of the van. I hear them whispering in the front about something and then I hear them say my dads name. I then move a little bit forward to listen better. I hear them say something about going to a house. I then scoot back again cause I don't want to be seen listening.
Time skip cause I can
We were in the van for a few hours I think and we slow down. I look out to the right side and see a house. That's my house. Why are we here? "Okay everyone remember the plan" I hear Kirstin tell everyone. I see Mitch come to the back of the van. "We are gonna get our Grammy back then Hopefully let you go" says Mitch as he helps me up. I stand up then look back at Mitch who points toward the exit door of the van. I step out of the van then Kirstin grabs my wrist. "Mitch tell the girl what to do" says Scott as he steps out of the van. "Kirst let go of the girl so I can tell her what to do" says Mitch as he sees she is holding my wrist. She rolls her eyes and let's go if my wrist. Mitch motions for me to walk over to him. I walk over to him and he says "you are not going to like this but this is the plan. You are going to go knock on the door. If no one answers in 5 seconds we are going to break in the house and find the grammy ourself. Kirst said we will let u go then but Kirstin never keeps her promise. Now go ahead and knock on the door" I slowly walk up go the front door and then knock. 1 , 2, 3 the door opens. Good think they didn't have to break down the door. "Rachel! I'm so happy you are okay!"says my mom as she hugs me. She sees the people behind me then pulls me behind her. Right before she tried to shut the door Kirstin came up and blocked the door then said "I believe you have something that belongs to us and we want it back. Either give it to us the easy way or the hard way" "I have no idea what you want. If you tell me I'll go get it then you can be on your way" my mom says. "Give is the Grammy or we take the kid back" Kirstin says while reaching out towards the door. "Boys step inside and let's search the place. Mitch you watch them" Kirstin says again before letting my mom answer and then pointing to me and my mom. "I'm sorry guys. But Mrs where is ur husband?" Mitch asks my mother. "H-He is at work right now and he won't be back until a few d-days because of a b-business trip"my mother says while grabbing my hand. I feel tears running down my face when I hear someone break something inside. "Guys I found it!" I hear Kirstie yell from down the hall. "It was in the girls room it looks like" Kirstie yells while walking back to the front door. I look up confused. I look to my mom and see that she looks mad. She looks like she is about to go off on them mad. She wouldn't do that. I hope. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY CHILDS ROOM. GET OUT OF MY HOUSE AND GIVE ME THAT BACK" my mother says as she lets go of my hand and runs up to Kirstie. I guess I spoke to soon. "Fine here you go. Jew go get- well you know what we want" Kirstie says then staring at me. I back up to the wall as far as I can and I feel tears coming down my cheeks. I feel someone walking over to me. "Don't touch my baby!" I hear my mother yell while running over to Avi then tackling him down to the ground. "Rachel run!" My mother yells at me while she pins Avi down to the ground. I stand up then sprint to the back door. I unlock it then open the door. I run through the door not even thinking about closing it. I run to the front yard then run out beside the house. "GET THE STUPID GIRL" I hear Kirstie yell as she bursts through the front door. BANG. "Maybe that will show her that she doesn't need to run" I hear Kirstie say as she starts laughing. I fall to the ground. I start quietly sobbing.
They killed my mom.
