The dark one.

Welcome to Olympus.

I suddenly wake up to a bright light shining on me. As i open my eyes, the light flickers and starts to fade.

"Wait, how did that happen?! Why is all the light from the room fading?!" I hear a male voice ask worriedly.

"Urgh, its because i dont like lights." I say as i sit up in the bed i am in. The really comfortable warm bed, i think i might just go back to sleep.

"Oh, you're finally awake!" The voice says, and he moves into my line of sight- and holy shit this guy is hot! Wavy blonde hair that stops just at his shoulders, startling blue eyes, and well fuck, he's fit.

"Oh sorry, i forgot to introduce myself. Well, my name is Apollo, god of the sun." Apollo says with a small bow.

"Hello Apollo, my name is Alexis and although i am indeed a goddess, i dont know what i am the goddess of." I say, and swing my legs over the side of the bed. Apollo just smiles and holds out a hand to help me up.

"Lets go find Hecate okay?" Apollo asks. I nod and follow him out of the room. As we walk i notice Apollo staring at me.

"Why are you staring at me? Im not that ugly am i?" I ask, and try to joke around a little bit.

"No you are not ugly at all, i was just looking at your hair, its a nice shade of purple." Apollo says.

"Eh, i dont care. I can change the colour whenever i want." I explain.

"That sounds so cool!" Apollo yells out.

"Jees, its not that cool." I say.

"Whatever you say. Ok now Hecate is just down this corridor ok?" Apollo says, and points down the corridor. I nod in thanks, and walk down the

corridor. As soon as i walk into the room, every single torch flickers and dies.

"Oh come on Alexis! Why did you have to do that?" I hear Hecate whine.

"I cant control it sorry." I reply and move towards Hecate.

"Well, we will have to work on that." Hecate says, suddenly appearing in front of me with a lit torch in her hand. I jump back in shock and the torch in her hand dies and we are engulfed in darkness again.

"Oh for gods sakes Alexis! Grr, we are going to have to start training today!" Hecate yells at me. I flinch, and try my hardest to melt into the shadows.

"Alexis? Where did you go Alexis?!" Hecate cries out, and i realise that i have become one with the shadows. I pull myself out of the shadows and stared at myself, i had changed. My old black ripped jeans and My Chemical Romance shirt have been replaced by a long black dress with deep purple markings that stops just above my ankles. My once short, straight, purple hair has been replaced by long wavy black hair, and my bangs have been turned into a long side fringe that covers half my face. And i look at my wrists and there is two silver bracelets which a deep purplish reddish cloth has been attached too. Im still wearing my black boots, but they have silver laces now.

"W-what has happened to me?!" I ask Hecate, scared of what has just happened.

"Well Alexis, it seems the shadows have claimed you as their own, which means you are the Goddess of Shadows." Hecate explains.

"Im the goddess of shadows. So that means i can control the shadows?" I ask, curious.

"Yes, with practise. Now come along, its dinner time." Hecate says, and walks out of the room. I follow and realise that there is a small black dagger on my hip. I walk into what appears to be the dining room, and Apollo and some girl i haven't met are already sitting there, drinking some sort of golden drink.

"Hello Apollo, Hello Artemis, how are you?" Hecate asks as she sits down. Ah so the girl must be Artemis.

"Hello Hecate, and who is this?" Artemis asks.

"Oh, i forgot i haven't introduced her yet. Artemis, Apollo, this is my daughter Alexis." Hecate says introducing me.

"Hello Alexis." Artemis says.

"Hi Artemis." I reply, unable to think of anything else.

"Whoa Alexis, you've changed!" Apollo exclaims.

"Well, i kinda accidentally melted into the shadows and when i came out i was looking like this, so apparently im the Goddess of shadows." I explain.

"So you can control shadows?" Artemis asks.

"I guess so, i mean ive always had this strange power over darkness." I explain. Artemis nods and Apollo looks at me with a mischievous glint in his eyes.

"Lets see how good your powers are." Apollo says before the whole room is filled with light.

"Argh!" I exclaim. I try to make the room dark again but i cant, and thats when i realise that the dagger on my hip is absorbing some of the light, as well as the cloth attached to my bracelets. I draw my dagger and move it through the light in front of me and the light turns into shadows. I move my arms in a sweeping motion and whenever light passes through the cloth it turns to shadows.With the shadows i have created i turn off every single source of light in the room.

"Yep you are powerful." Apollo says, and a small light gets thrown up in the air to illuminate the room.

"Please don't destroy this light Alexis, we do need a little light" Hecate says and i nod. Suddenly Apollo starts laughing.

"What are you laughing at brother?" Artemis asks.

"Im laughing at the fact that Alexis shouldn't be able to be in the same room as me, but she is." Apollo says between laughs.

"That doesn't make any sense Apollo." Hecate says.

"Well, since im the god of the sun and light, Alexis shouldn't be able to stand being in the same room as me." Apollo explains.

"Well, in order for there to be shadows there must first be light." I reason and Apollo looks mind blown. I smirk, and wonder why Apollo, Artemis and Hecate are living in the same house.

"Its because Hecate's house is at the very top of mount olympus, and Apollo and i need to be as close to the heavens as we can so the sun and moon can rise every day." Artemis explains.

"Oh did i say that out loud?" I ask a little bit embarrassed.

"Hahaha yes you did!" Apollo half laughs, half says. I blush and hide my face under my fringe. I stay like that until i hear chairs move and Hecate and Artemis walk away. Apollo stays though.

"Where did the others go Apollo?" I ask when i finally lift my head and brush my fringe out of my eyes.

"They have gone to bed, cos even us immortals like our sleep." Apollo answers and i nod feeling slightly hungry. "Hey Apollo, where is the food?" I ask.

"Oh dammit! I forgot to get you some food! Ill be back in a minute!" Apollo says, jumping to his feet and running out of the room. While he's gone, i think about how my life has changed, i mean first i find out im a goddess, next Nyx takes Clarissa, then the shadows decide to change who i am!

I am snapped out of my thoughts, as Apollo comes back with a tray laden with the strange golden drink and small golden cubes.

"Here you go Alexis, nectar and ambrosia!" Apollo says, and i pour myself a glass of nectar and eat a couple squares of ambrosia. And this food is delicious! I have never tasted anything as good as this, i cant even explain how good it tastes. When i finish my food, Apollo takes my hand and leads me down the corridor.

"Where are you taking me Apollo?" I ask.

"Im just taking you back to your room, its been a busy day and tomorrows going to be busier." Apollo answers.

I just nod, already feeling sleep over come me.
