Kayla's point of view:
So, here I am. In Indiana, at home. I'm relived, excited, happy ,and miserable all at the same time. I've been unpacking my clothes and all the things I took to NY. Jay has gotten quite aquatinted with the house and since I live out in really nowhere I just let her roam around the house without a chain or leash. I've seen Malory a couple times since I've been home but she seems like she's changed. I understand that it's been like an entire year but she has changed for the worse. She used to be a fun energetic girl that loved to hang out with her friends but since I've been back I've heard that she's kind of been a skank. She's made out with random people at parties and she's been drinking while at parties. She doesn't seem like the same person when I'm with her, she just seems to have gone bad. I actually prefer Rielle over her any day. I miss Rielle a lot, but we have already planned for her to come and visit in a week or two. It will be great for her to really get to see what the country side of life is.
When I was unpacking in my room when grandmother hobbled in and sat on my bed. "So how New York?" she asked in her fragile old lady voice. "It was pretty fun, my friend is coming down here to visit in the next week or so actually. I'm really excited for you to meet her, she such a great and down to earth person." I said while still unpacking. I was afraid she was going to ask about Nash. "That's a very pretty necklace" she said while holding it. "Yeah, a friend gave it to me while I was in New York" I said trying to be strong. "Can I see the pictures?" she asked and I opened the locket and put it in her hands. She examined the pictures for a good amount of time before she asked who they were. "Well this one is my friend Rielle, the one that's coming over in a couple weeks" I said while pointing to Rielle. "And this one is Matt, he's Rielle boyfriend" I said while pointing to Matt in the picture. "And who's this?" she asked referring to Nash. "He was kinda my boyfriend while I was down there" I choked. "Oh, darling. I'm sorry" she said seeing the tears staring to form. She hugged me and shuffled out of my room leaving me to my deep thoughts. This was going to be hard for me, I don't really wanna go back to school. I've been away for so long and I have no idea what anybody looks like or acts like. I don't know who I will hang out with anymore, I've changed since I've been gone. I've become more open to people and everything but the girls at my school are very intimidating. They judge you for everything. The top dog, if that's what you want to call her, has everybody wrapped around her finger. If she doesn't like you then nobody in her clique does, she's a total dictator. I've never really gotten along with her, she was to girly for me and too preppy. I was more of a serious and focused person but now I'm a little more joyful. I've embraced by roots and finally decided to interact with my horses. I mean my parents own like 200 acres and made a horse trail in the woods in our backyard. The house I live in used to be my grandmothers and ever since she got to old to care for the horses we have lived with her and cared for both her and the horses. Riding and going deep in the woods is actually really fun and relaxing.
After thinking about riding I decided to go for a ride. I walked to my closet and got on my pants and a sweatshirt. I walked to the back door and put on my boots and got my harness. I walked to my horse, Clover. She was mostly a black horse with a few white spots on her stomach. I saddled her and started on the trail. Roaming through the woods is so relaxing, all the nature. It was almost Christmas so it didn't have much green. Once it started to get really icy I decided to turn around fearing that Clover would slip and both of us would get hurt. Once we got back to the pasture I realized there was a peculiar car in the drive way. I unsaddled clover and walked to the back door. Once I got inside I took off my boots and dropped the saddle. I walked to the kitchen to find a person I would never have guessed that would show up at my house. It left me shell shocked. "Hey" he said as he smirked.
