Steven Universe: Pink Diamond Survived

Pink Diamond's Revelation

The Crystal Gems, a small group of living gems have spent thousands of years fighting in a war against their Homeworld to protect Earth. These gems were once just like any other gem who did as they were told from their superiors and didn't openly question their orders. That is until a Rose Quartzs decided she had had enough and decided to rebel. She recruited others who held similar beliefs as her and together they formed this group to protect organic life like that found on Earth. Approximately 5,000 years ago this war ended. The result, the Crystal Gems won but at a cost. This cost being many of their people as well as others they fought were damaged or even shattered. Pink Diamond the Homeworld leader of Rose Quartzs was one of those shattered. By shattering this Diamond Rose Quartz ended the war. 14 years ago Rose Quartz decided to give up her life to birth a child. This child's name, Steven Universe.

Since the departure of his mother Steven has been under the watch and care of the few remaining Crystal Gems, Garnet, Pearl, and Amethyst. Once Steven's powers began to emerge the gems allowed him to accompany them on missions to capture damaged gems mutants and fend off Homeworld Gems. Several months after the defeat of Homeworld Gems, Jasper and Peridot, the gems are about to face a challenge unlike anything they have encountered yet...

"Hey Garnet, I am going to the Big Doughnut be back soon!" Steven yelled out as he was standing in the doorway about to leave.

"Ok." Garnet replied watching him leave.

Steven left his house, which was built into the side of a cliff, and was heading off to a store called Big Doughnut, I'm sure you can figure out what they sell for yourselves. He walks in and sees his friends Saddy and Lars at the counter and greets them.

"Hi Saddy. Hi Lars," Steven greeted.

"Steven, hey, it's nice to see you!" Saddy said in excitement while Lars was sleeping on the job.

"So, how's it going?" Saddy asked.

"The Gems and I just had this amazing mission on the other side of the world where we stopped a volcano from destroying a city. It was amazing!" Steven explained.

"Oh that's SO cool. So, what will you have today?" Saddy asked.

"Just the usual," Steven replied.

"The usual coming right up," Saddy said reaching behind her for two glazed doughnuts.

"Thanks" Steven replied as he was handed the doughnuts.

"Oh! Steven by the way. I thought you should know that there was this really creepy women wearing a cloak in here earlier asking about you," Saddy said as Steven was turning around to leave.

"Did you see her face or recognize her voice?" Steven asked wondering who it may be.

"No. The cloak was covering her face and I didn't recognize the voice," Saddy said as if letting Steven down.

"Ok thanks for telling me." Steven said in appreciation and wonder.

Steven's wonder about who it might be was shortly answered. Almost as soon as he left the shop a cloaked woman came up behind him, and she placed her hand on his shoulder stopping him from returning home.

"Wah" Steven said as he jumped and turned around.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you Steven," She said apologetically.

"That's ok. I heard you were asking about me. Can I...help you?" Steven asked.

"Steven, I was hoping I could talk to you privately," She said in almost a whisper.

"Ok. But can I ask what your name is first?" Steven asked, hoping to get some information about her first.

"I will tell you, I promise, but first I need to ask you to keep an open mind. What I am going to tell you will be hard for you to believe," She stated with a worried look on her face.

"Okkkk," He said.

"I am a friend of your mother's....a gem friend" She said in an almost scared tone.

"Stay back!" Steven yelled as he pulled out his magical shield to protect himself.

"I'm not going to hurt you I promise," she assured.

"How do I know that? Why shouldn't I go get the other gems and bubble you?" Steven asked trying to convince her to stay away from him.

"Because, I am your godmother. Rose asked me to look after you and protect you if I felt Pearl and the others couldn't handle it," She revealed.

Steven was skeptical of what she said. No one ever told him he had a godmother, and the fact that Pearl and the others were like family to him made it difficult to believe the stranger.

"Perhaps I would trust you more if you weren't some dark hooded figure," Steven said.

She lowered her hood and Steven looked upon her face.

"You look familiar. Have we met before?" He asked as he thought back on his memories.

Steven paused for a few seconds and realized that he still didn't know her name.

"You still haven't told me your name," Steven said.

"Alright, but like I said, I need you to keep an open mind," She said.

Steven nodded in agreement.

"My name is.......Pink...Diamond".

"But, that's impossible! I heard my mom shattered you," Steven said in disbelief.

"It was a deception Steven. We wanted people to think I was shattered. Your mother and I planned this," Pink Diamond explained.

"Why? Why would you want people to think that?" He asked.

"Because I am a crystal gem," She said.
