Ezra Pt. 7

     Alyssa's POV

I didn't have to be force sensitive to be able to tell how much Ezra was hurting.

"Gosh darn it, Sabine!" Ezra growled. I bit my lip and walked over to my little brother. We were about the same height, he clutched his head and cried. It shocked me completely, to be honest. I hadn't seen him in years and when we "captured me" he seemed like he was cold and heartless like our big brother and our mother. But I saw now; it was just an act. I hugged him from behind, wanting to comfort my brother in his sadness. I felt him stiffen, but relax and hug me back. I wanted to express how sorry I was for him. But, I knew better than anyone that he didn't like being pitied because it made him feel weak. So I just hugged him and we sat in silence. He had never been one who was a romantic type. So I didn't expect him to be so hurt by this girl. Soon, his cries stopped and his breathing was extremely steady. I moved his head away from me to find he had fallen asleep. I picked him up the best I could and took him to the back of the ship. I laid him down on the seats and looked down at my brother. Tear tracks ran down his face, his eyes red and puffy from crying and his face held little emotion while he slept. I released a sigh and sat in the pilot seat and watched the lights of hyperspace, I had only got to see hyperspace a few times, do to me not having my own ship. Me and Ezra were very young the last time we saw each other. It was his seventh birthday, at the time I was nine, that was the day we became orphans.

Flashback

Ezra was having a lot of fun! He was seven years old as of today. There was cake, juice and presents. For once in our lifes' our big brother; Felix was actually being nice. I was extremely cautious around him today. He was actually acting like a protective big brother, I was the middle child and not very old. But, I was gonna find out why he was acting this way. Mother was also acting kind today, it was rather gut churning. I headed up stairs and noticed Felix following. Once I got to the end of the hallway I turned to face him.

"Why aren't you being mean or abusive to me and Ezra today?" I asked.

"Why do you wanna know, Alyssa?" Felix threw back. A low growl slipped through my lips and I glared at him.

"Because you are never nice to us, you treat us like a loth-cat would a loth-rat." I said.

"It's Ezra's birthday, I want you two to enjoy today." He smirked.

"What's the real reason?!" I said with the most harsh growl I could muster.

"I want you and Ezra to remember me for something." He said with an evil and wicked grin.
