I stood up and rolled up my sleeping bag quickly and ran off to the camp site. I slowed my pace after I couldn't see Alex's upset face. I felt guilty. I just get complimented for being a great friend and I just run away. Goosebumps were rising on my skin! Ugh, being complimented just makes me different. I smiled on the inside. I cartwheeled. That only happened with Ken!

Why is this happening to me? I just... feel different in this trip. God damn.

"Rise and shine! Well, if you want to!" I heard someone shout.

The shout was deadly and annoying, so I woke up, though I was still sleepy. I opened my eyes, the blue tent was slightly brighter, mainly because of the sun. I sat up, doing an Indian sit. I didn't get the main purpose of this field trip. We haven't done anything yesterday. Everyone was just roaming around, getting lost. But I didn't care that much about the purpose, I loved hanging out with everyone.

Nicole, Cody, and Alex's tutor arrived late because they missed the bus, which got them into a scolding session with Ms. Fields, the one in-charge of handling us. So, Alex didn't have to share a tent with us since his tutor was here.

"Lizzie, you twit. You don't just yell at the top of your lungs while it's just morning. How inconsiderate, people are still sleeping! Gosh, it's-"

"It's 2pm." Lizzie bluntly stated, and somehow finished my sentence. It's... 2pm. Wait, what time did I sleep last night?! Well, judging on the amount of stars Cody and I saw last night, which was a lot, I guess it could've been 2am or more.

"Yeah but, are there any plans or activities today? I don't think so. Now, leave me here to rot in my sleep." I retorted. Surely there was nothing planned like yesterday, since the main idea of this trip is to try to look at the stars late at night, then you sleep.

"You don't think so because someone suggested that we go have fun at a lake, but since you and Alex are lazy butts, we just moved the lake trip to a different time" Lizzie informed me, also peeking outside our tent at the same time.

"Is Alex up?" I asked before I yawned, standing up to change my white oversized shirt and shorts to some regular outside clothes.

"I think he's a morning person because he got up at 9am while you were snoring and drooling away." Lizzie teased. "We asked him if he wanted to hang with us while we roam around but, eh, he declined and just sat by you while you were sleeping, then I went back and he asked me to guard you." She scoffed, probably because she already knew that she would have to guard since everyone else were a bunch of lazy-asses.

"Well, that's.... interesting." I said, as I nodded slowly. "We better get out, I want to enjoy the sun and make friends. Oh! And nature!" I sarcastically said. Lizzie and I went out of the tent, just to see people moving. "Hey... what's this all about? Why are they moving"

"We're going to the lake now. We were 4 minutes out of schedule since you got up late." She said, as if it was a fact I was supposed to know. I wouldn't know, right? I didn't have a watch, so I wouldn't know what the time is, obviously.

While we were walking there, I got hugged from behind. Well, it was a boy, that's for sure. I already knew it would be Alex, not Ken since he didn't hang out with us. Also, I could tell by his smell. He smelled a bit like peppermint, something that Ken didn't have.

"Let go, you blonde pedo." I pulled his arms away from my waist, turned around and saw him laughing. He literally laughs at almost everything! Although, I would also laugh at a lot of things, sometimes I laugh at the stupid or nonsense jokes too.

Basically, the trip was a 15 minute walk, which were filling with jokes, stories and lots of puns, told by me. It was fun laughing, singing, uniting the gang together and having the time of our lives together, it seemed like a dream, or something just absolutely perfect. But what do I know about perfect? The whole reason why I transferred school in the first place was because I couldn't face anyone since everyone had someone to stick with, but I met Nicole in my last year so I guess it turned out better than I expected for this year, seeing that I formed a new group of friends by myself.

"Well, guys, we're here?" Andie said, unsure of her own statement since no one was in the lake yet. "Why isn't anyone-" She stopped as soon as she saw a girl and a guy, who were holding hands, jump into the lake. "Spoke too soon."

A couple more people jumped into the lake as soon as someone took action, while I just sat by a tree, keeping my distance front the lake, since I didn't want to get wet yet. Lizzie was just standing near the side of the lake, getting splashed by Alice, until she turned around and started walking towards to where I was.

"Hey," She started. "Why aren't you having fun yet?" She asked, doing an Indian sit as she sat beside me.

"Well," I started before I started stating the reasons why I didn't have fun in the lake yet. "First, you woke me up, even though I wanted more sleep. Second, I'd rather not bump into people. I'll just wait 'till a few people start getting out of the lake and just chill around."

"Usual Sophia." Lizzie muttered.

"Hey! I could have been splashing water all over your face by now if I was in the mood to." I defended. Obviously, I was already doing that in my mind.

"But for now... you want to chill, huh?"

"Yeah, it's just..." I sighed. "It's those few days where I get to enjoy places with my friends and just looking at everyone having fun, just seems like I'm having fun. Sorry for cheesiness, by the way." I shrugged, then stretched my arms in an upward motion.

"It's fine. But save the cheesiness when you need it." She and I laughed. That close friend moment ended when Alex, fully soaked in water, came running to us smiling.

"Let me carry you to the water if you're too lazy to! I just want you guys to have fun with us!" Alex excitedly said. I glanced to Lizzie then she shrugged, got up and started running to the lake. Alex still stood there looking at me intensely.

"Oh wait, you want me to go too? Oh no, no thank you."

"Just run there or I'll just make you go in the lake" Alex threatened. I rolled my eyes, since he was just  going to make me go to the lake. So what? I can just go anytime.

"Boo hoo. I'm so scaaaaared! Oh no! I want my mommy." I said dully. Then I felt my body being carried, my waist was securely held, and my hips were on a certain bone. I was being carried to the lake. Why am I not surprised?

Next thing I know, I can see myself falling, my hair going upwards, and the water slapping my back. The coldness of the lake makes me get goosebumps all over my body, and it makes me rub my arms.

"Y-you b-b-bastard! T-this is so c-c-cold." I stuttered, the goosebumps still visible on my body, if anyone bothered to see it. I, then, felt myself being hugged, the heat kind of making it a bit better, all of Alex's doing. But he hugged me like he didn't want to lose me, like I would run or float away.

"Does that feel better?" He whispered to my ear. And I swear, I felt my pulse rushing.
