Justin's POV

I sat in my room as silence overtakes me. Dom was taking care of my gift from Gilligan. Though I wasn't with Selena anymore and got fucked over by her. It hurt on a certain level. I just couldn't process it. What if I didn't get there in time to Lauren? Would he have hurt her? There was something that Dennis Jauregui taught me.

"Why did you make it seem like you didn't care?" I ask looking up at Dennis.

"Because." He says fixated on writing his paper.

"But you love your wife and family." I jab. "So why act like you don't care?"

"Justin, it's called reverse psychology. You make them act like you don't give a fuck." Dennis stated. "Cops use it all the time on people everyday. It makes a human's brain overthink their next action."

"So you just make them think you don't care." I question dumbly.

He nods his head in agreement with a smile. "Exactly. If you love somebody protect them by acting like you don't care about them. It always throws them off."

I take a deep breath as I see Stella standing in my doorway to my room. I say nothing as I stay quiet.

"Justin.." She trails off. "You can't blame yourself for this. Selena was a fake bitch anyways.

"You don't get it, do you?" I spat. "I don't care about Selena. Lauren is in serious danger. And that right there itself is my fault."

"She's a Jauregui. She was in danger at birth." Stella hissed.

Nobody understood the danger behind not only my last name but myself. Gilligan wasn't playing. And for the first time in forever, I am nervous for everyone around me. Nobody was going to be able to fix this bullshit, but me.

3rd POV

Jax had his coffee in his left hand with his right hand fidgeting with his car keys to unlock his car. A shadow appeared from behind a nearby car making him turn around be face to face with his dead best friend's brother.

"Peter, did you come to accuse me of once again killing your brother?" Jax spat with a scorn.

"I am here to tell you to stop involving your son with my niece." Peter shot back.

"I am not here to tell my son who doesn't even live with me what the fuck he can or can't do." Jax roared. "He's 23 years old."

"Look Lauren doesn't need to be involved with the family behind her fathers death." Peter hissed. "If you don't do something about your boy. I will."

"Listen to me Peter." Jax says taking slow steps to Peter. "I didn't kill Dennis. He was my best friend." He says taking another step towards Peter. "As for Justin. It takes two to fucking tango." Jax takes another step. "And my son cares about your niece more than your whole family combined. So if you want to ruin her happiness. You do you."

"Oh I will with pride." Peter says walking around as he runs his knife across Jax's car making a loud screech making Jax lose his calm. Throwing his coffee and slipping his keys in his pockets. He proceeded to grab Peter and yank him around to face him. Quickly balling up his fist and throwing it at Peter. Peter was in astonishment. Before he could get himself back up right Jax threw another punch. "Leave me fucking family alone." He growls as he stepped on Peter's body purposely getting over to get in his car. Nobody was going to disrespect Jax and he wouldn't dare someone to disrespect his sons or daughter. As got in the car. He called his daughter. His only daughter. As the phone went to voicemail. "Hey Jazzy." He says nervously into the phone as he drove down the road. Jazzy was her childhood nickname. And Jaz was the only girl that Jax had, so he couldn't help but call her Jazzy. "I just wanted to check on you. Uh-" Jax was never the best father and he knew that. He tried his best, but as Justin already has made clear. Being a Bieber wasn't so easy. Pattie understood that and is why she still loved and cared for her ex husband. Their kids on the other hand, not so much. "I love you. Call me back." Jax says into the phone before hanging up the phone grabbing a cigarette and lighting it at a red light. Did Jax feel same for Pattie? Of course he did. But with his lifestyle, he wouldn't dare put her through any of that. Making her change her name back to Mallette. He tried to keep his kids away from the lifestyle as well, but it wasn't as easy. Justin and Jason were practically raised by Jax. And that's what they thought was the right thing. Jax loved all of his kids dearly, but one stuck out to him than the rest. And that was Justin. He wouldn't dare show Justin more love than the rest. But Jax saw himself in his eldest son. Justin carried the same mindset and personality that he had. Justin had his tough side, but if you were good to him. He would show you his heart. And he could see how happy Lauren makes him. Something even Selena couldn't do. It was a different happy. A happy that if anything ever happened to her. Justin would completely lose his shit and forever blame himself. He was gentle with her. And as much as he wanted to deny it, Justin was falling in love with Lauren. No matter what he told his father, Jax saw right through it. Jax couldn't blame him, no guy wants to be the mushy type. He didn't want to admit that he loved Pattie, still tried to tell himself he didn't. But his heart knew exactly who he loved. And that's why Justin was secretly his favorite child.
