I see you lying there.
So perfectly still.
You left without even a goodbye.
I'll never kiss you goodnight.

You took your life in the night.
Tears streaking down your cheeks.
Bottle in one hand, note in the other.
Everything seems to blur together.

I've known you for awhile,
But never knew you were suicidal.
I was too busy getting lost in your smile.
I wish I had gone the extra mile.

There's no one else here to blame.
I didn't know you were playing with your life like a game.
Nothing will ever be the same.

You think I'll be okay.
The truth is I'll never stray.
I'll struggle every day.
I wish you had stayed.
