Riiiiiiiing!
I groaned.
"Lunch is over already?" I asked, bewildered. "That was quick!"
Marcus chuckled at me. "You probably didn't notice because you were spacing out."
Spacing out? More like daydreaming of you. Okay, I sound pretty creepy right now.
"Yeah, you're right." I said as I picked up my lunch to throw.
"What are your next classes?" I asked Anna and Marcus. Tina left a couple minutes ago because her class is in the other side of the school.
"I have..." Anna said, fishing out her schedule. Wow. It's the middle of the schoolyear and she still hasn't memorized it yet. Typical Anna. She groaned. "Ugh, I have biology with Mrs. Peterson"
"Ohh.. good luck with that. How 'bout you, Marc?" I asked, turning to face his beautiful face.
"I have English with Mr. Johnson." He replied.
"Okay, I guess I'll see you guys after school, then. I have drama with Ms. Rodriguez." I said, while walking out the cafeteria.
The bell rang signalling five more minutes until you're late for class. I hurried my steps and made it on time to the auditorium, where drama is held, right before the bell rang. The school auditorium is probably my favorite place in the school. It is quite large with two floors for the audience, complete with red armchairs. There is a big stage in front, including 3 layers of the big red curtain to help facilitate a better performance. The back is also complete with the technical aspects of drama for lights and sounds.
As soon as I entered, I saw Brandon waving me over. I smiled.
"Hey Brandon!" I said as I took the seat next to him.
"What's up, buttercup?" He said back.
"I wonder what we're going to do for drama this semester. I hope we do a play. Those are always the most fun." If there was one thing I was good at, it was acting. The rest, I am absolute crap in. Sports- crap.
Singing- crap.
Drawing/Painting- crap.
Cooking- crap.
Acting is the only thing I actually excel in. That's why I've been so good at hiding my feelings from Marcus. Usually, he would be able to read me like an open book..since he has been my best friend since diapers.
"Yeah" Brandon agreed. "Last semester, we had to write our own plays. This semester, I want to actually act in one."
"Good afternoon, class." Ms. Rodriguez greeted while entering the classroom with a bowl filled with strips of paper. She was a lively and fun teacher, one of my favorites. She had long black hair that is always in a bun and equally dark eyes.
"Good afternoon, Ms. Rodriguez" The class greeted back.
"I know you're all wondering what we are going to do this semester!"
The class murmured with agreements.
"Well, we are going to have our very own play!"
"YES!" I exclaimed. Finally some real acting!
"However, we are not going to act on just any play." Ms. Rodriguez continued. "We are going to pick one of the plays that you yourselves have written last semester!"
