No... No... I can't.... You can't...
I rubbed his chest wildly.... And then... Okay... I never had thought of doing this.... Never... But I have a last chance. So I followed his nose closed and closed my eyes. Anyhow I managed to place my shivering lips on his dry ones.... now I'm ready to give him mouth to mouth oxygen. It can help him... I guess. My face was on him and my tears wetting his cheeks. No one was there to see us except the dark night. With some continuous blow.. He finally reacted. I noticed some movements in his fingertips. Yes it's not a dream... He's... He's gaining consciousness. Oh my god.... It was so relieving. I suddenly got up to press his chest. I did it harder until he coughed, and he did finally. Something in me gracefully cheered. He was... He was fine... I held his head in my embrace "Chuk Chuk gadi" he muttered on my shoulder. Oh my Bihaan... caressing him was the most beautiful feeling I felt. Although hug was not proper yet was relieving to me and I gripped his head much tight on my shoulder. "Bihaan... Are you fine!?" asked I. But no reply. I broke the hug keeping his head on ground again, to see him fine. "Yes I am" he said. "Have some water" said I wiping my tears and making him sit grabbing the bottle from my bag. He waggled. He's conscious but not in his senses. "Were you drunk? And was driving?" I asked, groaning somehow making him drink water. He denied keeping my hands away. "No not drunk..." he managed to speak. "How.. How you met with the accident?" I asked patting his cheeks. "Not an accident...." he again managed to utter.
"Didi here is the help." Chotu said interrupting in between. Bihaan rested his head with semi-conscious eyes, on my shoulder and I rolled my hands over his cheeks. "Come let's go to hospital" I heard a voice. A man and a woman in a car was ready to help us. I and Chotu managed to make Bihaan sit in. I thanked Chotu and asked him to go on my scooty. He smiled assuring he'll keep the scooty near my house. I smiled.
"He's not drunk." my heart said. "How do you know?" asked my mind. "I... I mean I know cause I was so close to him.... Umm.. So close." my heart blushed a little. And then there was an awkward silence in me. He held my resting hand on his chest and smiled looking satisfied. I patted his cheeks to keep him conscious. My wet cheeks carved a little after his smile. I caressed his resting head on my lap. "I love you Bihaan" said I... No one heard thankfully.
"How he met with an accident?" man on the driver seat gearing up more, asked looking us into the mirror. "I don't know what had happened... He's not yet in his consciousness." said I shrugging my embarrassment. Woman sitting behind the man peeped towards me passing a smile. "It looks you love him a lot!!" said she. "Yes I do" I smiled wiping my tears. I kept shaking him whenever he was closing his eyes. "Bihaan... See me please" I insisted. He opened his eyes but ended up closing them. I shook him again but... No response. "Please be faster" I requested. "Don't worry he must be fine... After all such a lovely girl is there for him" lady consoled me. I faked a smile.
We reached hospital finally. Bihaan was on stretcher still holding my hands. I followed him till they detached us to take him in. The door was closed. "It's okay he'll be fine don't worry" lady assured. I hugged her crying out some of my pain. She consoled me. "We're getting late" the man hissed to the lady. So I broke the hug thanking them for whatever they did to me. Lady gave her visiting card if I ever need her. I kept it in my bag without even a single glance on it. They left.
The door opened and I rushed to the Doctor asking about my Bihaan. "He's fine... I had taken his blood samples. Reports will be out in the morning." said he. "Can I meet him?" I asked. "Yes of course... You can go in but he's not awake yet." he said. I thanked him and entered in.
He was looking so innocent in sleep. His half face was somehow visible cause of oxygen mask. I was staring him when "Come in... You can sit here" said the old nurse who was dealing with the nearby machines. I nodded stepping towards his bed. "Ohh.. Your hands are injured, let me do your dressing" said she. My gaze was just on my Bihaan. I don't know when she held my hands to apply the bandages. "Don't worry he's out of danger" she said looking at me. I smiled looking at him. She left after completing my dressing. I thanked her.
"Bihaan..." I caressed his hair and placed a kiss on his closed soft eyelids. Holding his hand I sat on the chair near his bed. I kissed his palm, they were normal now. But his big hands weren't yet showing any movement... of course. I caressed his hands and cried resting my forehead on it. "I...I was so scared Bihaan..." I cried. "Get up fast." he can't yet hear me. "Enough now... I'll make you know about my feelings. Now get up fast I want to talk to you." I cried but no one was listening to me. Not even my Bihaan.
The next morning filled me with grace when "Ayee chuk chuk gadi" I heard in my sleep. Yes he's Bihaan. My Bihaan. I founded myself holding his hand and lying my head on it. After opening my eyes I got up as soon as I heard him. He managed to sit saying "You slept here whole night!!..." I cut in between hugging him. I craved for this moment. "Are you fine Bihaan?" I cried on his shoulder. "I... I was so... So scared to.... see you in that state." I was getting louder when his hands gripped me in his embrace. "Thapki..." He consoled me caressing my hair. My sniveling lessened. "I'm fine..." said he. I tightened my eyelids to release the tears. "You're very bad Bihaan" I complained hugging him tight. "What nonsense were you uttering on the call?" I groaned in between my cry. "Thapki.... Relax..." said he caressing my back. We broke the hug "See I'm fine" said he tugging my messy hair back to my ears. He smiled convincing me to do so. I smiled and he wiped my tears. "How you got trapped in the car?" I questioned. His smile disappeared "just an accident" uttered he. But he was the one who said last night that it wasn't any accident. Oh God this man. "How you met with the accident!!" I investigated. "Umm... I don't remember..." said he with his face down. "So you were drunk??" I asked glaringly. He slowly nodded 'yes'. God... Again a lie. I was about to yell more when nurse interrupted peeping into the room. "Miss Thapki.. Doctor is calling you" said she entering into the room. "Wait... Did the doctor examined me!!" he asked "I mean do.. they..." he stopped without completing. I glared. "Umm... Nothing... Just be faster.." he shrugged faking a smile at me. I left in confusion.
"Yes doctor" said I entering in his cabin. "yes..." said the doctor turning towards me keeping the reports aside. "I wanted to talk about the reports..." he declared. I was scared, again. "Everything is fine right?" I was worried. "See... Miss Thapki. He had been injected drugs last night" doctor's words grabbed the ground away of me. "Dru.... Dru... Drugs..." I managed to utter. "Doctor... Patient in ward no.3 is panicking" a nurse said entering in the room. "Okay I'm coming" said the doctor grabbing a stethoscope from the table.
I was left alone in the room.
No... No injections.
I hate injections...
No please...
I'm scared of injections...
Please no...
His each word is echoing in me. My eyes still opened in shock. I held the table trying to control my swinging head in thoughts.
He had been injected the drugs last night..
No.
I hate injections...
Drugs
I turned towards the door and soon vanished the thought of asking Bihaan about it. I'm sure he'll lie again. I'll not let him know about what the doctor said. I started stepping out the room when...
I saw Bihaan peeping in the room.
We both seemed equally shocked.
