"Do a neuro exam. If I hit my head as hard as you say I did, I could have a concussion." Liam explained.
"I don't know how to do that though." I answered honestly.
"Get Roy back in here then." He said sending me away. I left the room and brought back grandpa to do the exam Liam requested.
I watched as grandpa had Liam follow his finger with his eyes, say the alphabet backwards, and answer a few math questions. "Just watch him closely; he should be okay by the morning." He smiled and left again.
"How are you holding up?" Liam asked after a few moments of silence; his question surprised me.
"I'm still breathing; you're still alive so I think I'm doing okay." I answered straying from the question.
"You don't have to be strong for me. This is a lot to go through in a month. It's okay to break down." His words were deeper than I had ever heard him say before.
"I have been breaking down. But right now, I need to be strong for you. You need me at my best." I explained. He just looked at me with hurting eyes. I could tell he hated seeing what a toll this situation he had put me in was doing to me. "How about I go for a girl's day tomorrow with Bekka and Emilia, get out of this house for a while and hang out with some girls?" I asked.
"That sounds awesome. I would love for you to hang with them." He said releasing the tension in his shoulders and neck. I grabbed my phone and texted Emilia.
"She says she'll come get me here and we'll go to the main land to go shopping. Too bad I am broke." I stuck out my tongue.
"Go ask your grandpa. He'll probably give you a credit card." He smiled which made me smile. I leaned up to kiss him and told him to stay awake until I came back.
I went down to grandpa's office, "hey, I'm going shopping with Bekka and Emilia tomorrow."
"Take this, get me something cashmere." He said handing me the platinum card. "A sweater if possible."
I ran from the room before he could take back the card and went to Liam. "You were right, lookie at what I got!"
"Told you, you're going to get me something aren't you?" He asked giving me puppy dog eyes.
"Hmmm, maybe if I find something that's perfect for you." I smiled crawling in next to him.
"You should go for a run with Finn tonight. You haven't shifted yet." He said.
"I rather my first time is with you." I whispered.
"It would be awhile still and you should probably go out soon." He explained.
"Well can't you just shift and we could just sit or walk around the back yard?" I asked trying to find a loophole.
"That seems possible." He smiled and started to sit up. I helped him to his feet and out onto the deck that was connected to my room. Helping him down the stairs, we carefully stepped onto the grass of the backyard. "You're gonna want to take off your clothes, and when you push off your bottoms, will yourself to change."
I took off my shirt and bra; I took in a breath and pushed down my bottoms and felt nothing.
"It didn't work." I said.
