Skies POV

I'd met up with him at the park, my jacket wrapped around me, keeping out the cold. The street lights shine over the ground and as I walk, I hop over puddles of water.

"It's nice to see you, after weeks of being away from you," Sean said, hands in pockets. We'd found a bench and sat down. "You too, I've missed you a lot, there's just a lot of things I'm dealing with at the moment."

One, my fathers death, two, my mom and brother. That's a lot, to me. "I know," he sighed, staring up into the night sky. "I love you, Skie..." he murmured, staring at me. Smiling, I said, "I love you too," scooting closer to him and lying my head on his shoulder. "I love you now and I'll love you forever. You've done so much for me, I don't know if I could ever live without you," I spoke, spilling out the truth. All of my feelings, I've kept bottled up, finally coming out into the open.

"You're my everything," he told me. "I don't want to lose you, ever. I love you so much, my heart flutters every time I see you. This may sound cheesy, but I love you to the moon and back. More than anything. That's why..." he breathed. "That's why I want to give you this."

I removed my head from his shoulder and looked at him. In his hand, he held a beautiful ring. The small diamonds glimmered in the moonlight. I gasped. "Oh my gosh, I'm not ready," I squeaked. Sean chuckled. "One day, Skie Lachowski, I will ask you to marry me, but not now. This ring is a promise ring."

A blush formed on his cheeks.

I'm an emotional wreck and tears spilt down my cheeks like a damn waterfall and I wrapped my arms around him, crying. "I love you so much." He held my right hand, slipping the ring on my ring finger. Pecking my cheek, he held me in his arms. He's warm and I felt safe in his presence.

"It's you and I against the world. Forever and always," Sean said.

We both stared up at the stars. I have a smile on my lips and butterflies filling my tummy. This has to be the happiest moment I've had all week, all day, and all month. Maybe even this whole year.

His words kept ringing in my ears.

"It's you and I against the world. Forever and always."
