Brooklyn's POV
a week later.
I walk out of the house and am met with Ethan and Grayson.
"W-what are you doing here?" I asked with wide eyes.
"I don't know. Just felt like visiting" Grayson said smiling.
"O-oh um, Okay.." I said gulping a little.
"So you wanna hang out?" Ethan asked
I looked up to Ethan and he has that cute little smile on his face like always.
I started to say no but closed my mouth and just nodded instead.
Both of them had a big smile on their faces when I did.
"Cool. So what do you want to do?" Ethan asked as I shut the door all the way and walked down the steps with them.
"Uh.. I-I don't know" I said shrugging.
"You don't have to be nervouse around us Brooklyn. Its ok" Grayson said putting his hand on my shoulder gently as he looked at me.
I nodded a little staying quiet.
"We could.. Well what is there to do around here?" Ethan asked.
"Well.. We could um.. We could swim.. We could fish if you are uh, into that stuff... W-we co-" Ethan cut me off.
"Lets fish. That sounds kind of fun" He said smiling and I nodded a little.
"My um Stepdad has fishing stuff we could use" I said pointing behind me.
"Alright" Grayson said and they followed me to the shed.
He keeps it pretty tidy in here and everything is organized because he is very OCD.
I get three poles. handing them to the guys.
I then go into the mini fridge and get some of the bait he has in their containers.
I also grab the tackle box and we walk out and down the hill to the river.
I take them to an area near my spot, knowing thats where a lot of the fish are right now.
I take a pole from Ethan since he was holding two and Grayson was holding one.
There is enough room for us to all stand with a few feet between us, and more room.
I always feel bad whenever I cut the worm.
"Just cut it Brook" Grayson said giggling at my continuously hesitating.
"I-I can't you do it." I said putting the knife down, stepping back.
He cuts the long worm in three and then hands a piece to me, Ethan, and keeps one to himself.
We put it on our hook and my side of the worm was being extra squiggly.
I finally got it on there and casted it out.
After about 5 minutes Grayson gets a bite.
"Finallyyyy" Grayson said reeling it pretty quickly.
He gets it all the way up and it ends up being a fish not even a foot long.
"Awe hes so cute." Grayson said poking it and it started wiggling on the line.
"Put the fish back Gray," Ethan said.
"NO. I WANNA KEEP HIM" Grayson exclaimed loudly.
I sigh and hand Ethan my pole.
I go up and back to the shed and get a bucket thing and go back to see Grayson dipping it in the water so it will breathe.
I get some water in the bucket and then get the fish off the hook for Grayson, letting it go into the bucket.
"HEY I NEED HELP HERE" Ethan said loudly as both mine and his pole had a bite.
I grabbed my pole and started reeling it in as Ethan did the same.
We both caught a fish, bigger than Grayson's
"Mines better" Ethan said smirking at his brother.
"MINE IS PERFECT DON'T TELL IT OTHERWISE" Grayson yelled at his brother making me start laughing and they both smiles at me
I let my fish go because I don't see a point in me keeping it. I don't like the taste or smell of fish.. And I am certainly not keeping it as a pet.
Ethan let his go.
"Guys. Come on. Lio needs a friend over here." Grayson said.
He had stopped fishing and is just sitting with his fish.
Ethan and I had to cut another worm.
I was determined to do it this time.
"Brook I can do it if you can't" He said and I poked the worm with the knife.
"No. No. I-I am.. Yeah you do it" I said setting the knife down once again.
He chuckles and cuts the worm in half.
I grab my half and put it on my hook.
"Its just a worm, it will still be alive until you drown it" Ethan said as I casted it out.
"Yeah.. But I just. feel bad." I said and he laughs and I feel a small smile on my face.
A real one.
"For a worm?" He asked and I shrugged.
"Well, I would feel bad for drowning it, Not for giving it two bodies" He said
