After our cab calling adventure we came back to my house and snuggled up on the couch, ready to watch movies. I popped in a random one and grabbed popcorn to eat.
About halfway through the movie my thoughts wondered elsewhere and my curiosity got the best of me.
"Shawn?"
"Yes love?" My heart melted and I chickened out.
"Oh nothing. Just making sure you were awake."
He nodded and wrapped his arm tighter around me. It felt like home. I truly believe 'home' isn't a necessarily where you live but somewhere wear you felt safe. And with Shawn, I felt safe.
Eventually, he did fall asleep, but I let him until the credits came. At that point I crawled onto his lap and started placing chaste kissing along his jaw and all the way to his nose.
I felt a soft laugh leave his mouth and kept going. He then captured my lips in a kiss and we stayed like that. With each other we were safe.
I rolled off of him and went to choose another random movie. We exchanged no words, but we both knew in that moment we were truly happy.
Again Shawn fell asleep and I woke him so we could move to my room. We both immediately collapsed and I started to drift off, but the I felt a strong arm grip around me. Shawn was pulling closer to him.
At that moment I was able to sleep peacefully and worry free.
