I was sitting on the patio of my grandmother's small little home something I always did with visits to her place. It always smelled of flowers and cookies, always one of the nice things you got from being with her.

"Y/n," my grandmother called which adverted my eyes from the flowers swaying by the summer breeze.

"Yes?", I called back out which concerned me. She was never so loud when she called me before.

I opened the old creaky front door and made my way inside, the smells still there still filling my nose. Although I was away from the flowers which grew in the front of the house. My steps were gentle and quiet as I still rushed to the kitchen where she was sitting at the dining room table.

"Come, come! Sit right next to me dear," she said while patting the seat right next to her, her smile from her eyes is what got to me, it was so beautiful then and it made me happy.

I climbed into the chair before letting a strange whine out as I hit my elbow against the table to hard, she laughed of course as tears welled up into my eyes. Her laugh made me laugh, so airy and light.

"You like flowers right y/n," she asked and of course I nodded, I loved flowers especially the ones at her house.

"Yes yes I like the flowers!," I exclaimed with a smile on my face. She then pulled out a little box, at first I thought it was a toy and reached for it before she pulled it away from my reach.

"No no dear. I need to tell you a story first. Can you wait for a story before I give them to you because this is very important okay? And don't tell your mother this is our little secret okay?," grandmother said while you looked at her wide eyed, this was going to be a secret! From mom, from the one person who hated secrets.

I nodded rapidly and bounced in the chair, causing it to creak underneath my bodies weight. This was truly the most exciting thing you've had all day, besides of course going to her house,

"I will not tell mom!," I practically screamed as she then tried to quiet me down with the smile still there. She was sick and that was one thing I knew for a long time, she was weaker than she was but still able to raise me when I was sick or needy.

"Okay okay, let me tell you the story, it's a great story really-", she was cut off my a small coughing fit. Those worried me alot then always had always would, "Ah...okay now once upon a time a very long time ago even before I was born there was a princess. She didn't believe in marriage or love at all, she didn't want love or marriage either she just wanted to be by herself without her parents rules."

I stared in wonder as she spoke, the story felt beautiful already the way it sounded just made me want more, the urge was there as I closed my eyes and imagined the princess.

"She liked flowers too, all the most beautiful flowers in the world. But her favorite flowers were the lilies. Oh how she loved the lilies. She used to pick seven lilies and put them in a small vase and sleep with them at night cause that's how she loved them so. The lilies were her sense of comfort, until the king wanted her to be wed. 'Only for the kingdom!,' he had bellowed with a drink in hand as the princess denied the offer."
