In a bar in Austin, Texas, Hayley Marshall sits and waits for her opportunity as she watches a group of young women.
"All right, ladies, do not slow down on me." One says. "Cheers."
They all tap their shots to each others, tap them against the table, then drink.
"Ooh! I'm getting the next round. Just take a sec, pull yourselves together." The same one says as she gets up and heads to the bar.
When she reaches the bar she says to the bartender, "Another round, please. Thanks."
Hayley makes her way over to stand beside her. "Beer, please." She says to the bartender.
Hayley looks over to the woman. "You look like you're having fun. What's the occasion?" She asks.
"I just finished my residency, which makes me an official ER doctor."
"Congratulations."
"Thanks." The woman says with a smile.
Hayley locks eyes with her. "Does it help with the guilt, given what you are?"
"What did you say?" The woman says with a suspicious look.
Hayley lowers her voice and says, "Keelin, you need to listen to me."
"How do you know my name?" Keelin says as she leans away.
"Got it from a friend. She said your grandma's maiden name was Malraux."
Keelin scoffs and starts to walk away, but Hayley grabs her arm.
"You better back off. Right now." Keelin says as she changes her human eyes to her werewolf eyes.
"I wish I could." Hayley says as she does the same.
Keelin looks at her with the surprised realization that she is a wolf as she continues speaking.
"I need a favor. Five minutes. Outside. I can explain."

In New Orleans, Alistair Duquesne leaves Marcel Gerard's apartment and goes into the elevator in the hallway. Once he enters, his phone dings.
"We found the girl. And Hayley Marshall." His text message reads.
He smirks as the elevator doors close. He sends a message back. "Kill them both."

Back in Texas, Hayley and Keelin agree to talk outside. Once they exit the bar, Keelin elbows Hayley in the face. As Hayley grunts and falls to the floor, Keelin runs and jumps over a brick wall. When she reaches the ground again she sees that Hayley is already there, leaning against the wall.
"Do not do that again." Hayley says.
Keelin a bit winded responds, "I'm not going without a fight."
"Would you relax? I'm not here to fight you. I need you. You're the last of your pack. That makes you special for reasons that are too complicated to explain." Hayley says trying to calm her.
"I don't care about your problems."
"You should. Because there are others who know how important you are. And they will come for you."
"Look, I have a life, a career, relationships. Someone tries to take that, they're gonna have to kill me." Keelin replies strongly.
Hayley hears glass shattering in the distance. She turns her head towards the sound. She hears a man in the distance say, "Where is she?"
Hayley gets an annoyed look on her face. "I'm sorry. We don't have time for this." After she says this, she hits Keelin's head against the wall, knocking her out. Keelin grunts and starts to fall to the floor. Hayley catches her, picks her up in a fireman's carry, and runs off.

Back in New Orleans, Marcel goes to see Klaus Mikaelson. He unlocks the door and enters the dungeon like room. Klaus is kneeling on the floor, chained and detained.
"Marcellus." Klaus greets him. "Can I assume your soiree for Alistair was a raging success?" He asks mockingly.
"Alistair doesn't give a damn about having his ego stroked. He used the party for the audience, so he could throw down a challenge." Marcel replies annoyed. "Or is that what you intended?"
"How difficult to be king. An outsider has the gall to question your rule and you have no one to offer counsel." Klaus says sarcastically.
"You think I don't know. The day after I bit Elijah he should have died. But his sire line is still out there. So I had Vincent cast a spell to figure out how that could be. It turns out the lines of your siblings are anchored to you. Now, I don't give a damn about the others, but I'm not gonna let anything happen to Rebekah."
"Lucky for me, my sister still holds your fancy. You may have no choice but to kill poor Alistair. Ah, well, heavy head, heavy crown, et cetera, et cetera." Klaus says with fake sympathy.
"If I kill Alistair, his theory gains traction. The vampires turn against me. They storm the city. And if they find you, all they need is a drop of your blood, and then their witches can track your family. Even Hope." Marcel informs him.
Klaus gets a frightened look on his face when Marcel mentions Hope.
"But, hey, I guess that's my problem, right?" Marcel starts to walk away.
"Marcel." Klaus says as he stands up. "You don't know Alistair. To defeat him, you need me."
Marcel scoffs and says, "You're offering me a deal?"
"One you cannot dismiss. Alistair and his ilk loathed me because of my strength. Now they loath you. Creatures such as they respect only one language, and I speak it fluently. Release me, and I will lay waste to the lot of them."
Marcel looks at Klaus with a stare that seems like he is actually considering this deal.
