"White walls surround us, no light will touch your face..."

Matt Peake was sitting next to the hospital bed that (Y/N) was in. A car accident that should have been fatal, had happened and Matt was praying that she would be okay.

The injuries were so serious that after her immediate surgery, In ICU, there was to be a nurse on watch every hour of the day.

"...rain taps the windows..."

It had been raining badly and the pitter-patter sound against the window was all that filled the plain, white room, except for the machines connected to (Y/N). Matt was always staring at (Y/N), holding her hand in his, hoping she would wake up soon.

"...as we sleep among the dead..."

Nurses had advised to Matt that (Y/N) was in a serious coma. She looked distraught in her slumber. Matt instinctively rubbed his thumb across her hand, thinking he would get a response...but to him, he was very afraid of losing his girlfriend. He wanted to be her everything. But he was scared he would never hear from her again...

"...days go on forever, but I have not left your side..."

It's been almost a week since the massive wreck and Peake still was there for her. The only times he would be away is when he needed to film and edit. He would spend his lunch breaks with her, his free time, any chance he had, he was with her.
"...we can chase the dark together. If you go then so will I...""...we can chase the dark together. If you go then so will I..."
Peake intertwined his fingers with hers and gently placed a chaste kiss on her hand. One thought was racing through his mind...

'If you end up dying today...I don't know what I would do...I guess I would join you...'

He didn't think killing himself to be with (Y/N) was the right thing to do, but they have been together through just about everything. He couldn't let those memories be gone..

"...we can chase the dark together. If you go then so will I..."

As soon as he looked up at one of the machines, and he noticed drastic jumps in levels. He immediately let the on duty nurse know and soon enough, a big group came in. It didn't look good...

Peake noticed (Y/N)'s heart rate was drastically slowing down. And All he could hear was the rain and the speed of his own heart racing. Next thing that happened was Peake's worst nightmare.

Her heart monitor showed a straight line. A long 'beeeeeeeep' was heard and then silence hushed the crowd. Peake was crying.

"...there is nothing left of you, I can see it in your eyes. Sing the anthem of the angels..."

All of the nurses turned to Peake as he sobbed silently into his sleeve. He was still holding onto her hand.

Losing her, basically killed him. He didn't want to live knowing he didn't have her by his side. One nurse stood by him and placed a hand on his shoulder, as to give him comfort.

The nurse then spoke up.

"You're a real gentleman. You stayed here, by her side, praying she would wake up each day and smile. We actually can't believe she was still breathing after that crash. She was hero for herself.

"...and say the last goodbye..."
