"Hello?" Alex felt a little foolish, calling out to unhearing ears. He had been weaving through statues, calling out to anyone who could answer. Alex felt horrible about leaving Owen like that. He could only hope that his friend wasn't too far behind.
The legend had said that only a hero of pure heart could save the princess and the kingdom. Alex knew that his intentions were pure. He only sought after the adventure and to help the kingdom in need.
"Hello?"
Alex swung around when he heard the sickly sweet voice. He bolted to the large oak door he had passed in his wandering, and pushed it open. Clear as day, stood the princess, wrapped in chains.
