Today was the day, the deadline. The day when everyone's faiths would be determined.
It was eerily quite at the Wilde residence. The clouds in the sky managed the hide the sun behind them, which made Olivia feel the doom and the gloom even more than when she first opened her eyes.
Today felt different though, somehow she felt hopeful, like there was hope for her, and in the strangest way she felt alive again. That feeling of aliveness she first had when she started racing, to which completely faded over time. She'd never felt that way when she started at the FBI. She's never felt that way when Miles kissed her. She felt a little of it when Messer kissed her but not all of it. To have that complete feeling in her gut made her feel complete. Like this is her life, this is what she's living for. The terror, the suspense, the adrenaline.
Adrenaline fueled, Olivia open the door to the open plan living room and caught a glimpse of Messer, Wolf and Sabrina looking at something on the coffee table.
She advanced and looked over Sabrinas tiny shoulder. It was the gas. She actually made it. The little minx, Olivia thought.
"How'd you sleep?" Sabrina asked at once.
"Barely at all," Olivia replied, then smiled at Sabrina.
Wolf looked at Messer then at Olivia.
"Relax, we just slept, thats all," said Messer.
"Not that it's any of your business," Olivia mumbled.
"What?" Wolf yelled after her.
"Nothing. Coffee?" She asked then walked into the kitchen after a trio of nods.
She walked out of the kitchen with the coffee jug in her hands and topped everyone off.
Before going back into the kitchen she noticed Wolf's pack of Marlborough lights on the coffee table. She sat the jug down pulled one out and lit it.
It had been forever since she last had a cigarette and it burned her throat and nose like acid.
Everyone noticed but didn't say a word about it.
She flipped the newspaper in front of her over and seen the mugshots of Shelby Fisher and Toby Fisher.
"Can't believe they haven't found them as yet," She said as she exhaled a mountain of smoke.
"They're pro's, and lets face it, the FBI have certainly been dropping the ball lately," Sabrina replied.
Olivia made eye contact with Sabrina wondering if she knew if she was FBI.
"We leave in a few minutes," Wolf pointed at the clock.
"Yeah, I'll just go get changed," Olivia said and hopped of to Messers room.
When Olivia entered the living room once again, both Messer and Wolf was dressed in FBI attire.
She'd never seen Wolf so well dressed before, it's didn't suit him. Especially the cleanly shaven face.
"Sabrina, whatever happens, donnot open that door for anybody untill you see Izaya, he'll be taking you across the border," Olivia explained.
"Got it," Sabrina nodded.
"Okay, lets get on the road then shall we?" Messer asked and Olivia and Wolf filled into the garage.
They all got into a black sedan and pulled out of the garage with Sabrina waving them goodbye.
Olivia wondered if she should have have Sabrina a proper goodbye, you know, at least a hug. But somehow this did not feel like goodbye.
They drove to Wolf's warehouse and got into the FBI SUV. The car had been fixed from all bullet holes, resprayed and the plates were changed to an already existing FBI's SUV.
