One Year After The Fantastic Four
Charley's POV

I grabbed my time watch and looked at the house. My cats sat in the basement meowing up a storm. I sighed and went down there. I heard them purr as they rubbed their bodies against my leg. I pet each one of them before I grabbed some things from my lab and placed them into my backpack.

I hesitated. Should I make a note? I thought better of it and went back upstairs keeping the basement door unlocked in case Aliana or Bilbo went down there to feed them after I was gone. I left the front door unlocked and started walking through the town as if I was going on a trip.

I got to the train station and sat on a bench to make someone see me so that if anyone asked, I had moved not gone in time. I got up from the bench and got on a train. At the last second, I got off the train and sped to an alleyway.

My plan is a go, I thought and ran back to the basement of my house. Everyone would think I was on the train by now. That's what I told Aliana and Bilbo anyway, that I was going on a trip. I didn't tell them I wasn't sure when I'd be back.

I turned the dial on the watch and sped into the speed force into the past.

Central City 2029, Present Day
Bilbo's POV

I got up from my bed and went over to Charley's house. It was my turn to feed the cats since Aliana fed them last week. Aliana was currently working at S.T.A.R. Labs trying to reopen the place since Charley left. She wasn't getting anywhere near having that place ready for a grand reopening, but she still hoped it would happen in her lifetime. I wasn't sure why she was so hung up on the place. It was abandoned now. The only person who went there was her. She kept the place from being run down, but it still didn't have much use since she worked at the lab and became one of the forensic scientists at C.C.P.D.

I walked down into the basement like I did every morning when it was my turn to feed them. I grabbed the food from the counter. Aliana was nice enough to leave it where I could find it easily. I grabbed the bag of food and poured it into the bowls. There was a whooshing sound and I whipped around.

I stayed cautious and took off my gloves. I peered around the corner of the lab where Charley's weird hallway machine-like thing was. A man in a suit, who didn't look a day over twenty eight, stood in the hallway now. He started mumbling things in the language of science that I didn't understand. He looked up and was surprised to see me standing in his way with my hands out ready.

The man coughed, "Bilbo, it's been a while."

"S-same to y-you." I stuttered

He smiled his usual smile, "I suppose you wonder where I've been?"

"T-that d-didn't c-cross my m-mind a-at the m-moment." I answered

"Really? That's rather surprising." Charley said

"W-why? Y-you l-left us." I replied and started heading towards the door of the basement.

"Bilbo! Wait!" He yelled after me

I turned around to face him, "W-what?"

"Don't tell anyone I'm here. Especially Aliana." He said with a serious look

"O-okay." I answered and walked up the basement stairs.

Speaking of Aliana, She was at the door when I opened it. She looked surprised for a moment to see me in the house, but then her eyes registered.

"It's your week...right." She said more to herself than to me

"Y-you c-can go." I said and walked past her.

If she found Charley in the basement, it wouldn't be my fault. She would have stumbled there on her own. I expected her to go inside anyway, but for once she actually closed the door and walked away with a sigh.

I walked to my house and sat down with a cup of coffee in my hand.
